S-Cry-ed: Volume 1: The Lost Ground

The Kanagawa region of Japan experienced a strange cataclysmic earthquake 22 years ago that forever changed the land as well as the people that lived there. The region was labeled by the Mainland as the "Muraji Special Economic Region" but the people who lived there called it simply the "Lost Ground". As the people worked to try and restore their homeland, a new phenomenon occured. Children who were born with enhanced psychic abilities who were able to change matter to create "Alters". Fear of these new Alters, as these children were called, and the need to try and maintain some semblence of law in this new world gave birth to a special police force known as HOLD. To deal with the special problems that Alters posed, a special Anti-Alter unit called, HOLY was created, made up of their own Alter Users. Using HOLY Alters to combat Native Alters.

Kazuma, one such Native Alter, has lived his entire life in the badlands of the Lost Ground. Using his wits, and his powers, to survive, his activities soon gain the attention of HOLY. Deemed a threat to law & order, HOLY gives him a choice, join the organization or die. Kazuma hates taking orders and he has never been one to back down from anything, but is he strong enough to take on HOLY's most powerful Alter, Ryuho?
