: : : Loose Cannons
===Story=== ''Loose Cannons'' centers around a detective named Fielding (Dan Aykroyd) with amazing analytic powers--and a multiple personality disorder. Partnered with a hard-nosed vice cop named Stern (Gene Hackman), they're on the trail of a pornographic Nazi film that proves the impending German chancellor is a former Nazi. Fielding and Stern have to cope not only with German bad guys, the FBI, and the Israeli secret service, but also Fielding's schizophrenic breaks, which crop up at moments of high stress, transforming him into Captain Kirk or other pop culture icons. It seems like the script of ''Loose Cannons'' was originally intended for someone with stronger mimetic skills than Aykroyd--not that it would have made much difference. Not a single moment of the movie makes any sense; the awkward blend of comedy and crime thriller never meshes. Also featuring Dom DeLuise, Ronny Cox, and Nancy Travis.
