Story

Benjamin Bratt joins the show's cast as Det. Rey Curtis, the new partner of caustic Det. Lennie Briscoe (Jerry Orbach), in the venerated series' sixth year. In the opener, a distraught mother guns down -- in court -- the man charged with abducting and murdering her young daughter.
