Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows (HP7) part 2 the Feature Film...

Hi, I am DarshD and this is an unbiased and spoiler-free review of HP7(Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows)part 2.First of all, this movie is rated UA/PG and falls into the action, fantasy, adventure genre.

This is the 8th film in the series(7th HP book got devided into 2 films) and I must say, it is not merely a film, it is a result of 10 years of hardwork, persistance and all the cast's ability to stick together and especially return to reprise their roles in the many Harry Potter films. This is the epic conclusion of Harry Potter series. The Deathly Hollows part 2 is worth your money just because it has a perfect direction by David Yates, brilliant SFX and a great magical sequences you will only find in a Harry Potter movie.

Even if you haven't watched the previous Harry Potter films or are new to this Harry Potter series, you won't miss anything

because this movie explains the prolougue when it starts, which is Harry Potter named boy had parents who were powerful wizards and they were murdered by Voldemort but Harry survived that night. On Harry's 11th Birthday he gets admission in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Voldemort is now determined to kill Harry and be The Dark Lord of this world.

Harry learns that Voldemort has devided his souls into the seven pieces and hid them in this world (these are called Horcruxes), in order to become immortal. Also, Deathly Hollows are 3 magical objects which help a person to become the most powerful and invincible in the world. Harry and Voldemort are trying to find these Deathly Hollows. Harry has destroyed few Horcruxes but there are still some remaining. The wizarding world has become a dangerous place for all enemies of the Dark Lord. The long-feared war has begun and Voldemort's Death Eaters seize control of the Ministry of Magic and even Hogwarts, terrorizing and arresting anyone who might oppose them. But the one prize they still seek is the one most valuable to Voldemort: Harry Potter. The Chosen One has become the hunted one as the Death Eaters search for Harry with orders to bring him to Voldemort... alive.

Harry's only hope is to find the Horcruxes before Voldemort finds him. But as he searches for clues, he uncovers an old and almost forgotten tale — the legend of the Deathly Hallows. And if the legend turns out to be true, it could give Voldemort the ultimate power he seeks.

Little does Harry know that his future has already been decided by his past when, on that fateful day, he became "the Boy Who Lived." No longer just a boy, Harry Potter is drawing ever closer to the task for which he has been preparing since the day he first stepped into Hogwarts: the ultimate battle with Voldemort.

The Part 2 of HP7 picks up where part 1 left. Harry and friends have to destroy the remaining Horcruxes. There is a sequence where Harry and friends go to Gringotts Bank to find the Horcrux in Belatrix's locker and anything you they touch multiplies. And then the escape from the Bank is also very mind blowing scene with Harry, Ron and Hermione riding a flying dragon. We also meet Albus Dumbeldore's brother and we realise that Dumbeldore hid many things about his past but Harry trusts Dumbeldore and continues the mission. Another Horcrux is in the Castle of Hogwarts, which makes Harry and friends go back to the School where everything began. It is not the same school we knew, though. Dumbeldore passed away and now Snape is the Headmaster of Hogwarts which is why now the school is under the control of Voldemort and is prison-like for the students. Now Harry takes over the school and Voldemort and his army of Death Eaters and Giants starts attacking the school because they want Harry and suspect that Hogwarts is hiding him.

Everything is not just action. There is also emotional feelings and situations that are unique to the Potter series. Like Harry's thinks that many people has to die because of him. Ron and Hermione's Romance, Harry and Ginny's Romance and some surprise moments with Mrs. Weasly, Snape, Luna, Hagrid, Harry's parents and Nevile. Best presentation of emotions by the actors and great direction in this movie. The emotions from the Novels have been successfully made into the film format, perhaps they are better in the films than our imagination.

Will Harry find the truth behind Snape's actions? Will Harry,Ron and Hermione destroy every Horcrux? Can the Hogwarts, Order Of Phoenix, Harry battle Voldemort and his army? All these answers await in this film. We also get to see some chemisty and romance between characters. Snape's story is a very emotional ones. You'll feel the pain when certain characters die.
There are many great action sequences in this film like the falling bridge sequence with Neville, Gringotts escape, Hogwarts battle, fire in the Room of Requirements etc.

It's very sweet to see characters evolve in these 10 years and we are lucky enough to see the same actors reprise their roles. Nevile was surprisingly awesome and heroic. All the actors acted brilliantly. Ballatrix actress Helena Bonham Carter has little screen time though and I don't know why but Ron's actor Rupert Grint is getting bashed everywhere because people say that Ron looks like a Pumpkin since the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince movie. But I think, Rupert looks as brilliant as Daniel but I guess, Rupert has more muscles than Dan or say, the Ron from the HP books. Emma Watson as Hermione shines, so does Evana Lynch(Luna), Bonnie right(Ginney), Julie Walter(Mrs.Wisley) and other very talents people of the HP cast.

Direction of this movie is perfect. This movie is almost an example of a perfect film-book tie in. There are plot details missing here and there but the part 1 of HP7 or other HP films or books had these details and stories of the objects or characters you see in this film. Also, those who watched every film would be very happy to watch some jokes, situations and places that you've seen in a particular Harry Potter movie. Also, this 10 years of work makes you sad when Harry and his wife Ginny says goodbye to Potter Jr. or when you see a certain character die.

The music and sound effects are epic and they compliment the movie and situations.Production values are high in this film with Warner Bros. producing and destributing the film. 3D is great with many action scenes and normal scenes looking fantastic because the depths and colour effects are good.

  • Conclusion:

When we see the name- Harry Potter we expect magic and this film has more than enough magic to it which makes this a perfect treat for anyone.Harry Potter Author J.K.Rowling did a fine job of making these awesome 7 books and Warner Bros. and the whole cast did a brilliant job of making these 8 HP movies.

Overall, the Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows Part 2 is worth your money, effort and wait. It definetly lives up to it's hype and will not disapoint anyone.
