The second and final volume of Gundam 0080 plays out a lot like the first one, but with a few notable differences. Compared to the first volume, there's a bit more action, and the battle scenes are among the better ones you're likely to see in UC Gundam storylines. Also, the story becomes a bit more "personal" as civilians get caught in the crossfire and the Zeon soldiers realize they've been sent on what is essentially an impossible mission.
What really hit close to home here was the ending to the series: After the final episode when you watch the closing credits, it gives you a better idea of the message being conveyed and how it plays into the conclusion of the story. It's a good example of the impact war can have on children, especially when you lose a close friend or loved one in battle.
Overall, while it does improve on the first half of the series, there may not be enough to warrant committing to this series unless you have to own every Gundam title ever released. You might just want to rent this one or borrow it from somebody...and keep tissues nearby for the ending-you'll need them.
