Twelve year old Misaki has been holding her own in the world of Angelic Layer, a fast-paced fighting game where high-tech dolls are controlled by the thoughts of their operators. She may be undefeated, but now she finds herself competing against Tokyo's best in a National Tournament.

Will she remain undefeated? Or will her new friend, kindergarten prodigy, Hatoko, hand her her first loss? Can Misaki over-come her self-doubts in time to advance to the next Tournament or will she be cheering her friend from the sidelines?
