Evercool Venti Review reported at 12:15 PM
category: CPU Coolers     website: LanOC
Article Quote:
Most companies play it safe with budget cooler designs but Evercool didn’t and it shows through brightly with the Venti. If you’re on a budget and working with the limited space of a mid-tower or other similarly small space builds you can do far worse and if noise is not an issue, give the Venti a strong consideration.

When it comes down to it the MX300 from Cougar is a no-frills case that will most certainly get the job done and makes installation extremely easy. What it lacks in features it does make up for in price.

Intel Pentium 20th Anniversary Edition G3258 CPU Review reported at 11:40 AM
category: Intel Socket 1150 CPUs     website: MadShrimps
Article Quote:
Intel announced earlier this year the Haswell refresh lineup together with the release of their latest mainstream chipset, the Z97. This refresh release was overshadowed by the eagerly awaited high end K SKU Devils Canyon and the low end 20th Anniversary Pentium processor; especially the latter is a very interesting product as it now sports a fully unlocked multiplier and retails at an insane low price. We have to thank the boys from Denmark Zzolio and Riska which allowed us to spend some time with their G3258 Pentium ES processor.

NZXT Sentry 3 Fan Speed Controller Review reported at 11:10 AM
category: Monitor Coolers     website: PureOverclock.com
Article Quote:
As any system builder can tell you, the proper way to tune your system involves balance. Part of that balance which often goes overlooked by many novice builders is configuring your system fans; without proper airflow, your system might not be performing to its peak potential or might just be making a bit more noise than it needs to. Let us not forget that often times we find ourselves wondering how we are going to supply power to our fans without having to use motherboard headers and having all those unseemly cables running all over the place like so many cob webs. NZXT's Sentry line of fan speed controllers has been a staple for many system builders for several years, ranging in style from simple, mesh-style rheostat dials (varying resistor to control fan speed), to dual bay touch screen units. Here to serve another segment, as well as to update their lineup, is the Sentry 3. Offering 15 watts/three fans per channel, an increased size single bay touch screen, temperature probe, five total channels and an alarm monitor, can these features really create a more balanced build for you, or does this amount to nothing more than a bit of case bling? Before we find out, here's a bit about NZXT:

HIS Radeon R9 280 IceQ X2 OC Review reported at 10:48 AM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: Benchmark Reviews
Article Quote:
Unless you desperately need a current generation video card for whatever reason, you can do much better for your money at this level to buy a previous generation Radeon HD7950 if stock is still available. When the R9 series video cards were released AMD and their partners slashed prices on the older stocks. Savvy shoppers will always find a good deal and so should you, it always pays to shop around.

In our opinion, the price is perfectly aligned with the features and quality of the product. If you are looking for a functional case, which is fresh, quiet and able to offer a good margin for cable managment, the NZXT H440 is definitely a great choice.

Intel Core i7-4790K Review reported at 10:19 AM
category: Intel Socket 1150 CPUs     website: eTeknix.com
Article Quote:
Intel’s Core i7 4790K offers slightly improved temperatures and significantly improved out-of-the-box performance compared to its predecessor, the Core i7 4770K. Considering the i7 4790K hits the market at the same MSRP as the i7 4770K it really is a must-consider option for anyone interested in a high-end Intel Haswell system.

NZXT H440 Review reported at 10:13 AM
category: Computer Cases/Enclosures     website: Overclockers Club
Article Quote:
To conclude, I'm glad to see NZXT filling up the chassis with fans rather than having the customer spend even more money just to get the same airflow potential. That being said, the issues with the chassis can be overlooked if those do not impact certain needs. I, however, could not recommend this chassis just to anyone as the flaws are nearly invisible unless inspected closely. I can say that the NZXT H440 is greatly needed to fill the niche in the ever growing computer chassis market. At $120 and in multiple color choices, I would not not pass up this chassis if a lack of a optical drive bay doesn't bother you, as everything else is built on quality with a few minor hiccups. Just remember, this is not the only chassis with a long list of similar features or the cheapest, but it does bare the NZXT name and that alone can be enough to warrant the price difference to many potential customers.

ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer Review reported at 10:03 AM
category: Socket 1150 Motherboards     website: HardOCP
Article Quote:
The ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer motherboard was an excellent performer overall. In terms of overclocking it simply kicked ass for a budget motherboard solution. Its no-frills approach is something that is refreshing in this day and age. Ignore the glut of marketing on its spec page and look the other way at the inclusion of the Killer NIC, and the Fatal1ty Z97 Killer is near perfect for what it is. We wanted to hate it and ended up loving it. I am however not convinced that over the long term it is not going to self-ignite and burn the house down.

MSI R9 280 Gaming 3G Review reported at 09:03 AM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: PC Perspective
Article Quote:
Just as it happened a couple of years ago with the HD 7970 and the HD 7950, we find ourselves loving the R9 280 when compared to the R9 280X and the rest of the GPU lineup from either AMD or NVIDIA. Only this time prices are lower across the board. For gamers that are targeting a 1080p gaming experience and want to be able to max out quality settings in just about any title (with a couple of exceptions like Crysis), the Radeon R9 280 GPU is going to be a fantastic and compelling option for under $250. In particular, the MSI Radeon R9 280 Gaming edition ups the offering by included the Twin Frozr cooler and enough overclocking headroom to easily hit 1100 MHz or 1150 MHz with some luck. PC gamers with a mainstream budget would be hard pressed to do better than this card!
