Intel Pentium G3258 Review reported at 12:18 PM
category: Intel Socket 1150 CPUs     website: Guru3d
Article Quote:
I really like the Pentium G3258, we like to congratulate Intel with the 20th Anniversary. The Pentium G3258 is a fun product to fool around with, just for fun alone. Overall I was impressed how well these little critters run on a full blown PC. The overclocking results did put a smile on my face alright. It was that good old tweaking feeling. Interestingly, the two cores overclocked towards 4800 brought in a hell-of-a-lot CPU performance per core. AMD's mid-range processors and APUs need four cores to do the same.

Samsung 845DC EVO Review reported at 11:53 AM
category: SATA Hard Drives     website: NikKTech
Article Quote:
"Overall Samsung has done it again and although the 845DC EVO 240GB will not be winning any performance crowns anytime soon (its higher capacity brothers may) its enterprise-grade features coupled with the 5 year warranty, and the support only Samsung can offer make it a very solid enterprise-grade solution well worth our Golden Award."

SteelSeries Sensei Wireless Review reported at 11:47 AM
category: Mice     website: MadShrimps
Article Quote:
The Sensei Wireless packs the same Pixart ADNS-9800 (Avago 9800) sensor we have seen at some of the mice we have reviewed previously, including the Sentinel Advance II which we have really enjoyed. This sensor is not recommended usually by top-tier gaming players because it comes with hardware positive acceleration which cannot be disabled via software. Regular gamers though should not be bothered at all by this feature and will really enjoy the Sensei Wireless with all its added features.

Razer Kraken 7.1 Review reported at 11:37 AM
category: headsets     website: ocaholic
Article Quote:
The Razer Kraken 7.1 gaming headset is a pretty good product. The build quality as well as the materials used is really good and on a level that we expected from Razer. The comfort is quite important in this segment and that is where the Kraken has been able to excel. The soft cushions fit perfectly and you will never experience pressure points. The sound quality is good but we would prefer a more balanced sound so we do not have to swap headphones to enjoy music. The microphone is retractable, with green LED and remote control. Like we said, the audio is not perfectly balanced but thanks to the Razer's software you can changing it to fit your needs. It is not the first time that we have used a headset with 7.1 virtual surround sound and in this case the sound is pleasant and highly immersive. If you are an MMO player and you have always to jump in and out from a voice chat or adjust your volume, you will be disappointed as the Kraken 7.1 does not feature an in-line remote control.

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK Review reported at 10:51 AM
category: Socket 1150 Motherboards     website: HardwareCanucks
Article Quote:
In conclusion, the Z97X-UD5H is a motherboard that takes full advantage of the Z97 chipset, and although it’s not yet perfect, it is a worthwhile offering in a crowded field. With this model you are getting a solid combination of cost, enthusiast-friendly additions and expansion capabilities. Having said that, for $10 more here in Canada you can buy the Z97X-UD5H Black Edition, which is not only pre-tested from the factory, but features a longer 5-year warranty, and sleek black heatsinks. Frankly, it's a no-brainer.

category: Socket 1150 Motherboards     website: PureOverclock.com
Article Quote:
Finally… if you take into consideration some of the minor quibbles we have with the motherboard’s SATA layout and PCIe lanes available for multiple graphics cards, despite these issues, we feel that ASRock did a great job in releasing a solid performing motherboard that is aggressively priced.

Swiftech Apogee XL Review reported at 10:49 AM
category: CPU Coolers     website: Overclock Intelligence Agency
Article Quote:
"As for performance, we observed a notable 1-2°C improvement in temperatures over the previous generation Apogee HD block. While not a huge increase, if Swiftech is able to constantly improve their liquid cooling components by this amount every generation as technology improves and CPU cooling requirements evolve, they'll remain near the top of competition in their field."

MSI Z97 XPOWER AC Review reported at 10:45 AM
category: Socket 1150 Motherboards     website: PC Perspective
Article Quote:
"MSI did a nice job with the XPower board refresh embodied in the Z97 XPower AC motherboard. While the board updates were more subtle than those of other manufacturers, MSI did make some welcome additions to the board to make it a good invested in comparison to the Z87 version board."

Samsung 850 Pro 512GB Review reported at 10:37 AM
category: SATA Hard Drives     website: Benchmark Reviews
Article Quote:
I must admit that the Samsung SSD 850 PRO was a pleasant surprise. Considering that so many of the recently launched solid state drives have failed to offer substantial improvements over previous offerings, it was refreshing to see Samsung deliver a record-breaking SSD that also comes with an industry leading warranty. The Samsung SSD 850 PRO may not offer the industry’s least expensive price per gigabyte among solid-state storage devices, but 850 PRO also avoids being the most expensive. Considering that no other SSDs can deliver sustained transfer speeds or operational performance to the same level, it’s nice to see prices are reasonable. Benchmark Reviews recognizes how well the Samsung SSD 850 PRO series delivers highest-end operational performance to power users by topping our IOPS and transfer speed test results, proudly earning our Golden Tachometer Award.

Corsair Vengeance K70 Review reported at 10:35 AM
category: Keyboards     website: OCModShop
Article Quote:
The Corsiar K70 is still one of my favorite keyboards. It has all the features of the K95, but without macro support or multiple profiles. As such, this keyboard does not need software to handle or program the macros, which can be frustrating if you don’t need them.

Samsung 850 Pro 512GB Review reported at 10:34 AM
category: SATA Hard Drives     website: PC Perspective
Article Quote:
The Samsung 850 PRO delivers on one of the potential answers to ever more difficult flash memory die shrinks. Instead of shrinking, Samsung actually expanded their process back up to 30nm and chose to go vertical! They plugged this new V-NAND into their existing controller technology and really made it sing. The structure and interface improvements of this new flash also go a long way to alleviate some of the small write speed issues seen on typical 2D NAND, making it very resilient to fragmentation over time, which should help out in RAID configurations lacking TRIM support. Overall I'm extremely impressed with the 850 PRO. The only fault I can really find is that intro pricing is a tad high, but to that I say here's hoping we seen an 850 EVO soon!
