Intel Core i7 4790K: Devil's Canyon Benchmarks On Ubuntu Linux reported at 01:45 PM
category: Intel Socket 1150 CPUs     website: Phoronix
Article Quote:
For performance junkies, the Core i7 4790K is currently the best desktop offering Intel has until desktop Broadwell CPUs make it out months down the road. With AMD having no serious high-end desktop processors, the i7-4790K is easy to call a winner. The i7-4790K is a nice upgrade if you're currently running a Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge CPU, since its price is about $340 USD at launch, which is right around the original price of the i7-4770K (currently the i7-4770K can be found for ~$310) while offering ~10% better performance than the i7-4770K in computational workloads.

Enermax Liqtech 120X & 240 Review reported at 01:41 PM
category: CPU Coolers     website: Guru3d
Article Quote:
The Enermax Liqtech 120X and 240 both offer great looks and fairly low noise levels. Next to that I must admit that they are a breeze to install as well. So as a package these kits will really work out. Both kits are among the more silent models we have tested to date, whilst offering you a fairly nice chance to overclock as well. Don't expect heaps of cooling performance though as performance can be compared with a decent class heatpipe cooler. It does look 10x better and is very silent.

ASRock Z97E-ITX/ac Review reported at 01:34 PM

Article Quote:
"ASRock have done a good job with the Z97E-ITX/ac motherboard and it oozes great quality. With its 4+2 power phase, it has enough power to tame an i7 4770k when overclocked and did I mention those gorgeous metallic blue heat sinks? If you are in the market for a Z97 board and more particular, M-ITX, then make sure you consider the Z97E-ITX/ac!"

Intel Core i7-4790K Review reported at 01:18 PM
category: Intel Socket 1150 CPUs     website: Vortez
Article Quote:
Intel's Devil's Canyon Core i7-4790K is a significant improvement over the i7-4770K, offering better overclocks and substantially better temperatures. It is a Haswell CPU which may finally tempt Ivy Bridge users to upgrade, and aligned with the Z97 chipset also presents an updated feature-set. Introducing a redesigned package to the market so quickly is worthy of praise and those who routinely overclock to the bleeding edge may be pleasantly surprised by the additional headroom and improved power delivery. The Core i7-4790K is quite simply a better alternative to the Core i7-4770K and thus is worthy of our Gold award.

Noctua redux & IndustrialPPC Fan Review reported at 01:07 PM
category: Case Cooling Solutions     website: Hardcoreware
Article Quote:
If anything, the Noctua redux models prove how effective the advanced features are on Noctua’s other models. On the 140mm side, the Noctua redux spin a bit faster than the NF-A15 PWM, but are significantly louder, and don’t offer much of a performance benefit. The 120mm models are a bit closer in noise level, but are actually slower than the NF-F12 PWM, and don’t perform nearly as well.

These days you can get the Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1 for 190 Euro and for that price you get a motherboard with a lot of features. The only thing that's missing is the M.2 slot, which should definitely be part of any Z97 board. Other than that you get the nice Sabertooth design which makes it perfectly suitable for modding.
