Plextor PX-256M6S Review reported at 12:42 PM
category: SATA Hard Drives     website: Guru3d
Article Quote:
We have no hesitation recommending you the Plextor M6S of SSDs. We do suggest the 256GB version over the 128GB model as the larger volume size helps out in write performance. These are good and very fast SSDs at a competitive price level, well done Plextor. We give it our recommended award as it is well deserved.

MSI R9 280X Gaming Review reported at 12:34 PM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: techPowerUp!
Article Quote:
With a price of $400 online, the card is quite expensive though. A standard 3 GB R9 280X retails for $280 - making it a great option if you are focusing on price/performance. The same $400 that get you a R9 280X 6 GB, would get you a R9 290, which is over 20% faster, even if it doesn't have as much memory (which isn't needed anyway). Alternatively you could look at GTX 770, which is a few percent faster, but costs only $300. On the other hand, if you think you really need 6 GB of VRAM (you probably don't), then MSI's R9 280X 6 GB might be your best choice, not only because it provides the extra memory, but also because it manages to achieve the delicate balance between very low noise without running too high temperatures.

be quiet Dark Rock 3 Review reported at 12:20 PM
category: CPU Coolers     website: Frosty Tech
Article Quote:
Suffice to say, the BeQuiet Dark Rock 3 heatsink performs pretty close to the Pro version at stock fan speed, however when each heatsinks' fans are slowed down for the sake of quiet the gap widens substantially. On the 200W synthetic thermal test platform the Dark Rock 3 lags the Pro version by 15.5°C, on the 150W test this figure is about 11.8°C. BeQuiet have produced a great tower heatsink in the Dark Rock 3, at full fan speed it offers competitive thermal performance with relatively very low noise output.

Slap a couple of fast hard drives or SSDs inside and you’ve got one capable little NAS that doesn’t take up too much room and can easily share files with the rest of the network users and can be put to work as a media center at the same time.

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 7 Review reported at 12:02 PM
category: Socket 1150 Motherboards     website: eTeknix.com
Article Quote:
Gigabyte’s Z97X-Gaming 7 motherboard may no longer have the unique green aesthetics of that we come to associate with the Gigabyte G1 Series, but what it does have is a ridiculous number of features for such a competitive price point that other vendors cannot match. Gigabyte’s Z97X-Gaming 7 is an excellent motherboard for any gaming system and with a 4 year warranty you know it is a piece of hardware that you can trust.

Thermaltake NiC C4 Review reported at 12:01 PM
category: CPU Coolers     website: Overclockers Club
Article Quote:
The NiC C4 is more cost-effective for the budget conscious consumer. Besides the NiC C4 and C5, other coolers such as the Noctua NH D-14, Corsair H100i, and Corsair H80i are equivalent to the NiC C4, but they come with a higher price tag for that similar performance profile. If you need a reasonably priced cooler that can step up to the plate without striking out, then the C4 is one of the most valuable (and economical) players in today's CPU cooling market.

A-DATA XPG SX300 Review reported at 11:57 AM
category: SATA Hard Drives     website: ThinkComputers
Article Quote:
When it comes to performance the SX300 mSATA performed pretty much right up to its specifications. In most of our tests we saw right around 500 MB/s for both the read and write. In ATTO Disk Benchmark, which we use as our definitive benchmark for solid state drives the SX300 mSATA scored 547 MB/s read and 516 MB/s write. We also used this drive when reviewing the Gigabyte BRIX projector and it was great having a super fast OS drive! Of course if you are looking at this drive to replace a mechanical drive you are going to see a huge performance difference.

"Even at a relative low price it still holds up to it’s name with Lian Li’s great build quality and brushed aluminum look. However, we would only recommend this case if you are willing to accept the limited storage and expansion."

category: SATA Hard Drives     website: MadShrimps

The 500GB of the drive variant we have tested are not enough? No problem, since Silicon Power also has available for us one 1TB variant. The good news travel even further, since they have also announced the 2TB drive availability for many of their drives.

Article Quote:
Utilizing many features from the Enthoo Primo makes the Phanteks Enthoo Pro a great purchase and a sure winner in my book. The Phanteks Enthoo Pro, at a price point of only $99.99 USD, is a purchase that’s really hard to beat.
