Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 GHz Edition Windforce 3X Review reported at 03:19 PM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: Vortez
Article Quote:
The GIGABYTE GTX 780 GHz Edition is brilliant in almost every department. For starters it has to be classed as one of the best looking graphics cards available and this is indisputable whether you favour NVIDIA or AMD. Sure, we have seen the Windforce cooler before, both old and new versions but GIGABYTE have added to an already successful design by implementing backplate cooling and protection that not only does both jobs well but also looks gorgeous while doing so. It is also one of the fastest 'out of the factory' GTX780s available with a blistering 1071MHz 'on-tap' when you need it most. Having a factory overclock so high did however mean that manual overclocking is restricted, at least on our sample to a paltry 40MHz on the core. It did however overclock exceedingly well in the memory department.

AMD A8-7600 Review reported at 03:12 PM
category: AMD Socket FM2+ CPUs     website: Guru3d
Article Quote:
Kaveri will be hard to beat in terms of features and overall performance, this is an excellent and affordable APU for a HTPC or a simple Windows 8.1 PC. Gamers with a high-end dedicated graphics cards will however require a little more boom-boom-pow in the raw processor performance. But who knows, Mantle might be the magic that AMD needs to happen and solve that need. And yeah sure, if in the future more applications will make use of OpenCL and HSA, then the sun will rise and shine for AMD. And the A8-7600, this actually might be the best price-performance / sweet-spot APU out of all models released today.

Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-X OC Review reported at 02:25 PM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: LanOC
Article Quote:
At $449.99 the R9 290 Tri-X isn’t a cheap card by any means, but it did perform up to its price. You are paying a nice premium over the reference design, specifically $50 over the reference R9 290. At that price difference it would have been nice to have the backplate included in my opinion. But the fact is, right now these cards are selling for WELL over their MSRP because the demand is there. That shows you how bad people want them, so if you have the chance to pick one up for your next build I would recommend it.

Kingston HyperX Predator DDR3-2800 2x4GB Kit Review reported at 11:53 AM
category: DDR3 Memory     website: ocaholic
Article Quote:
If we ignore the pricing, we still get a well-made, reasonably fast and flexible set of memory, which is not a bad thing given how little effort Kingston have recently put into the high-end segment.

NZXT Phantom 530 Review reported at 11:50 AM
category: Computer Cases/Enclosures     website: KitGuru
Article Quote:
We loved working with the NZXT Phantom 530, although the rate at which it gathers dust may be a problem for some. Overall, this is a well built chassis that will handle just about any specification you choose to integrate inside, with room to spare. It is a well built case, quiet in use and available for just under/over £100 – depending on your colour preferences.

be quiet Dark Rock 3 Review reported at 11:49 AM
category: CPU Coolers     website: Techware Labs
Article Quote:
Anyone looking for a replacement CPU cooler for their system is going to be swamped with options. There are a slew of coolers from dozens of manufacturers, all of them claiming to be more powerful and quieter than the last. With the Dark Rock 2 from be quiet!, though, we have a winner. I literally could not find a single fault with this cooler, much as I tried. If you want top-notch cooling performance without dealing with all the hassle and potential problems of a liquid cooling system, this is the one to beat. I can’t think of a better candidate for our Editor’s Choice award.

Asus R9 270X and 280X DirectCU II TOP Review reported at 11:45 AM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: PC Perspective
Article Quote:
Asus makes a pretty good video card. The build quality, cooler quality, and overall value and performance of these products are pretty outstanding. I have to admit that I have a soft spot in my heart for the chip formerly known as the HD 7870, now in the form of the R9 270X. That chip is downright miserly when it comes to power vs. performance. It is around the same overall performance as the GTX 760 but is a good 50 watts less in overall power consumption. The Tahiti chip powering the R9 280X has been out two years now and was the first of that generation. It still keeps chugging along and the MSRP is right where it should be.

TP-Link TL-WR1043ND Review reported at 11:39 AM
category: Internet Routers     website: Hardware.Info
Article Quote:
If you only need a router for the standard 2.4GHz frequency, the TP-Link TL-WR1043ND v2 is an excellent option. It only costs around $56, has plenty of features and impressive performance. In the Speedboost mode it can compete with much more expensive routers, even if the performance wasn't quite as constant as in normal mode. When we connected three clients to the router, that performance boost all but disappeared. Since it's a new product, the support from the open source community still needs to gain momentum.

Zalman LQ315 Review reported at 11:21 AM
category: CPU Coolers     website: Frosty Tech
Article Quote:
"Ultimately, of the three Zalman water coolers Frostytech tested, the LQ315 performed the poorest. While it did have a slightly thicker heat exchanger than the LQ310 system, the waterblock on the LQ315 we tested was simply too convex and made poor contact with the flat copper CPU die on our synthetic thermal test platform. This could be a manufacturing one-off, but given all three LQ-units were convex to one degree or another it seems the waterblock design isn't quite as refined as it could have been. In this instance, we'd recommend passing over the LQ315 for Zalman's LQ320 model - the cost difference between the two is marginal and the later demonstrated better thermal performance."
