category: CPU Coolers     website: Frosty Tech
Article Quote:
What we've seen from Noctua's NH-U14S CPU cooler is a very well built thermal solution which gets the finer points of installation, fan changes, noise abatement, you name it, right.

Lexar JumpDrive P10 Review reported at 11:59 AM
category: Tape/Zip/Jaz Drives     website: techPowerUp!
Article Quote:
There is not much to say about the quality of the stick as it comes in the same excellent alloy tray, with its solid use of plastic and sturdy sliding mechanism to protect the USB connector. The unit also manages to tickle at the maximum performance of 245 MB/s write and 265 MB/s read Lexar advertised, but those specifications unfortunately hold more for write and not read performance, as the JumpDrive P10 offers consistent write performance hitting the 245 MB/s threshold more often, while its read performance maximum is far more unlikely. The P10 even ends up being slower than the Triton on average, which is quite unfortunate and the reason the review score is lower for the JumpDrive P10 than its predecessor. But it still deserves our Highly Recommended award for making the competition eat some serious dust in terms of write speed, which is something the Triton was unable to do a year ago.

Kingston SSDNow KC300 Review reported at 11:08 AM
category: SATA Hard Drives     website: Hardware.Info
Article Quote:
"The KC300 certainly isn't a bad product, but when you compare it to the competition it becomes a dime-a-dozen SSD. Let's hope that SandForce releases a new generation controller in the near future so Kingston can compete a bit better."

Seasonic Platinum SS-660XP2 Review reported at 10:56 AM
category: Power Supplies     website: ocaholic
Article Quote:
With the SS-660XP2 Platinum Series Seasonic offers an extremely good PSU in its price category. With an output power of 660W, this PSU should be able to power most PCs. Thanks to its many modular output connectors connectivity will most likely never be an issue. The build quality of the Seasonic SS-660XP2 is quite impressive. It packs a good input filtering stage, an exceptional fan that keeps the noise levels in the "silent" region, while most capacitors from Nippon Chemi-Con are proof that it really earns the place in the high-end market. The only downside that we could find is Seasonic's decision to use some non-Nippon Chemi-Con capacitors as well which means that the "Platinum rating" is fulfilled with no margin at 50 and 100% load. Due to its quite attractive price we do not count this drawback as a negative point.

Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H Review reported at 10:54 AM
category: Socket 1150 Motherboards     website: ThinkComputers
Article Quote:
At the end of the day this is not the most powerful or best overclocking Z87 motherboard out there, but it is sure one hell of a value considering its features. Many other companies will try to sell you on gimmicks or features you just don’t need. This motherboard does not do that, it has everything you need and not many extras that 90% of people won’t use.

Synology DS1513+ Review reported at 10:49 AM
category: Power Supplies     website: MadShrimps
Article Quote:
The DS1513+ NAS from Synology is another impressive product which sports five bays with redesigned plastic trays and the usual Intel Atom Dual Core CPU at 2.13Ghz along with 2GB of RAM. The memory can be upgraded up to 4GB if needed by simply removing the top cover and inserting an extra module on the back of the motherboard PCB. The server can be extended via expansion unit in order to include a maximum of 15 drives and 4 Gigabit LAN ports are to be found in the back which support LAN aggregation. The cooling system is composed of two silent 80mm fans placed in the back side of the unit which are fixed on metallic frames; these metallic frames are user-removable and allow an easy cleaning process, unlike other units we have seen in the past.

AMD A10-5800K vs. A10-6800K Gaming Performance reported at 10:38 AM
category: Socket FM2     website: ocaholic
Article Quote:
Once more we see with the comparison, that gaming performance really doesn't depend on the CPU. The most important piece of hardware in your setup is definitely the graphics card. If you thought about upgrading from a A10-5800K to a A10-6800K to get some more frames per second, there really is no need for that. The differences are simply tiny.

Western Digital Black2 Review reported at 10:33 AM
category: SATA Hard Drives     website: Hardware.Info
Article Quote:
The Western Digital Black² combines a relatively slow SSD with a mainstream HDD, but it's a unique and brilliant combination that's definitely more than the sum of its parts. The Black² is the perfect solution for when you only have one available storage slot but need both fast storage and a lot of it. This is the first time you can have both in a single slot, and is therefore a great storage solution for notebooks.

SteelSeries 5Hv3 Review reported at 10:30 AM
category: headsets     website: NikKTech
Article Quote:
"Overall with the 5Hv3 SteelSeries has once again introduced a good Stereo Gaming Headset and although it's not very strong in terms of bass levels the really negative thing about it is its price tag something which will most certainly change as time goes by. For now however due to its overall audio clarity, detachable and lightweight frame, retractable microphone and swappable cables the 5Hv3 Gaming Headset is certainly worth a look if you’re out for a new gaming headset."

Asus R9 270X DirectCU II TOP Review reported at 10:21 AM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: techPowerUp!
Article Quote:
The ASUS R9 270X DC II TOP is a solid addition to the company's graphics card lineup. It comes overclocked out of the box, which gives it a 2% performance advantage over the AMD reference design. Not really much, but better than nothing, it makes the card 1% faster than the HD 7950 and 3% slower than the GTX 660 Ti. The more expensive GTX 760 ends up 9% faster. It would have been nice of ASUS to also include a memory overclock to help with performance, and while the memory chips are not amazing overclockers, they could certainly handle a few MHz extra.
