Intel Core i5-4670K vs. AMD FX-4350 Gaming-Performance reported at 05:47 PM
category: Intel Socket 1150 CPUs     website: ocaholic
Article Quote:
Having a closer look at the results we gathered while testing eight different games and two benchmarks with a low and a high quality preset, we see that the Core i5-4670K, with our "low-preset" is on average 39.2 percent faster than the AMD FX-4350. Switching to our "high-preset" shows that the Core i5-4670K's can maintain it's lead with 8.9 percent advantage. Overclocking the AMD FX-4350 to 4.5 GHz makes the performance with our "low-preset" go up by 4.6 percent but when it comes to the high-preset the increase in performance is only 1.7 percent. Regarding the Core i5-4670K the situation is similar (10.9 percent "low-preset", 1.0 percent "high-preset"). What's quite interesting to see is how the wattage of our test system increased while maintaining 4.5 GHz stably. The FX-4350 needed 35.9 percent more power and in case of the 4670K the increase was a whopping 47 percent.

Cooler Master CM 690 III Review reported at 02:19 PM
category: Computer Cases/Enclosures     website: Hardware.Info
Article Quote:
The CM 690 III is one of the best at cooling components, as you can see here, while the price is excellent. At this price point, the CM 690 III is a uniquely complete chassis of outstanding quality. The improvements may be incremental over the previous version, but it's the perfect evolution and sets a new standard for mid-range desktop chassis. Only one award is appropriate here, and that's the Gold Award.

Cooler Master CM 690 III Review reported at 02:13 PM
category: Computer Cases/Enclosures     website: eTeknix.com
Article Quote:
Cooler Master have made big improvements to their popular 690 range, providing us with a product that is competitively priced, while ticking the box of everything you could ask for in a high-end chassis or system build without moving onto more hardcore enthusiast products. It’s easily one of the best sub £100 chassis on the market today and its style wouldn’t look out of place as a gaming rig or an office work station.

HIS R7 250 iCooler Review reported at 01:01 PM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: HardwareHeaven
Article Quote:
"The HIS version of the card sticks with what is important, keeping the small PCB and attaching a quiet cooler to it. Performance is also good, in fact surprisingly so. When we began testing the R7 250 iCooler it seemed like 1920x1080 with any sort of detail would be a stretch but as we went on it was clear that this little card was a very capable gamer. Not only did we get to game on medium/high detail a lot there was also a noticeable increase in performance over the similarly priced GT 640."

MSI R9 270X Gaming 2G Review reported at 12:56 PM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: Ninjalane
Article Quote:
"Overall the card ran great, comes with an excellent cooler and ample factory overclock. The R9 270X only comes with a single Crossfire bridge connection so multi GPU performance will be limited. In most gaming systems two cards in Crossfire will offer plenty of performance, especially when gaming at 1080p."

MSI R9 270X HAWK Review reported at 12:43 PM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: Overclockers Club
Article Quote:
"At the end of the day, you have to figure out if the benefits of the MSI R9 270X are worth the $219 price point. As far as gaming prowess is concerned, it is faster than its direct competitor, the GTX 660, but the price drops recently revealed by the green camp make the comparison more challenging when you are sticking with a 1920x1080 resolution. Compared to the HD 7870 GHz edition, the R9 270X is faster in each and every game, even when comparing factory-overclocked editions head to head. Pricing may be a wash, as you can find an HD 7870 GHz edition for as low as $150 after rebates, so again it's a tough choice to make when we are talking a 5 FPS max margin. When you look at the feature set on MSI's R9 270X, it has an excellent feature set for long term usage by the mainstream user. It is cool running and quiet with good looks to boot. At 1920x1080, it delivers gaming performance at moderately high settings and comes with a warranty should anything go wrong."

Asus R9 280X DirectCU II TOP Review reported at 10:20 AM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: techPowerUp!
Article Quote:
If you want to get the GTX 770, which is roughly as fast as the R9 280X, you'll have to cough up $380, a pretty large difference. So it looks like AMD's R9 280X is the best price/performance option in this segment right now, and that by quite a large margin. ASUS's R9 280X DC II TOP did leave a good impression. Its cooler might be a little noisy, but so far, this would be the R9 280X I would buy.

HIS R9 280X iPower IceQ X2 Review reported at 10:08 AM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: Benchmark Reviews
Article Quote:
"The HIS Radeon R9 280X iPower IceQ X2 Turbo Boost 3GB video card is priced to perform in comparison with an NVIDIA GTX 670 video card, but in reality performs more closely to an NVIDIA GTX 770. These new R9 line of video cvards are offering an excellent value/performance ratio. Since this is old stock that AMD needs to move, and considering their position vs NVIDIA, it is no surprise that we are seeing these results."
