Patriot Viper 3 Venom Red DDR3-2133 2x4GB Kit Review reported at 11:42 AM
category: DDR3 Memory     website: ocaholic
Article Quote:
"In the end, we can conclude that our previous voyage to the land of Patriot was not a holiday romance; there are other kits in the lineup that are equally attractive. Take these 2133C11 Viper 3 models, for example. You can’t take away from the fact that those are very solid performers, but there are one or two things that spoil the overall experience. "

G.Skill TridentX F3-2933C12D-8GTXDG Review reported at 11:37 AM
category: DDR3 Memory     website: techPowerUp!
Article Quote:
If you simply look at the performance graphs to then conclude these sticks aren't that great and overpriced, you might be overlooking one of the best memory kits out right now. The G.Skill TridentX 2933 MHz C12 kit would be the wrong purchase for the average user who simply enables XMP as board and CPU compatibility issues are something nearly anyone will run into. However, if you are familiar with timing customizations and want to overclock, the G.Skill TridentX 2933 MHz C12 kit does provide some fantastic flexibility, and overhead that is going to be greater than what most CPUs can provide. You do have to pay a bit due to that fantastic capability, but that has been the case since day one. If you want premium parts, you have to pay premium prices.

ASRock FM2A85X-ITX Review reported at 11:35 AM
category: AMD Socket FM2 Motherboards     website: Hardware.Info
Article Quote:
"The ASRock FM2A85X-ITX is a very nice ITX motherboard that can serve as a solid basis for an HTPC or even a home server thanks to the presence of eight SATA ports. The specifications and performance of the board are all in order, and only the idle power usage could be a little lower. For things like HTPCs energy consumption is very important. Nevertheless, the FM2A85X-ITX remains an excellent motherboard and earns the Silver Award."

Asus Sabertooth Z87 Review reported at 11:32 AM
category: Socket 1150 Motherboards     website: Benchmark Reviews
Article Quote:
The value proposition for this board isn’t clear-cut. For $259.99 (Amazon|Newegg), the ASUS Z87 SABERTOOTH is an expensive ATX motherboard, and for the same or a lower price you can get other Z87 ATX motherboards that have more (obvious) features, such as onboard WiFi/Bluetooth or POST code displays. The benefits of the TUF lineup are not those that can be easily discerned in a review like this; rather, it’s a statement of durability and reliability that you pretty much have to take on faith. So it boils down to function over flash, and you’ll have to decide how important either is for yourself.

Seagate’s first attempt at a consumer SSD has certainly given the company a lot of momentum in the solid state market as the 600 Pro SSD certainly has proven itself to be a worthy contender to compete against other drives. It is able to deliver a balanced performance. It remains to be seen whether the drive can help Seagate to position itself as an industry leader in SSDs, as it is in hard drives.

ASUS/EVGA/Inno3D/MSI GTX 780 Roundup reported at 11:21 AM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: Hardware.Info
Article Quote:
All four manufacturers - ASUS, EVGA, Inno3D and MSI - made something special out of their GeForce GTX 780. The card that impressed us the most, however, was the ASUS GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5. The new cooler works like charm, and its performance is clearly reflected by the test results. The card also manages to stay very quiet and offers the best overclocking potential thanks to the new cooler. ASUS earns the Gold Award for its card.

AMD FX-9590 Review reported at 11:18 AM
category: Socket AM3+ CPUs     website: HardwareCanucks
Article Quote:
The FX-9590 certainly isn’t for everyone, nor is it a practical solution for current AM3+ users since quite a few FX-8350 processors can reach this level of performance with some judicious overclocking. Rather, this is an achievement catering directly to the AMD enthusiasts who will appreciate the FX-9590 for what it is: a successful attempt by AMD to throw caution into the wind by building the fastest processor they possibly can.

Intel Haswell CPU Cooler Roundup reported at 10:59 AM
category: CPU Coolers     website: Tom's Hardware
Article Quote:
Noctua's NH-U14S isn't the strongest performer qualifying for our stamp of our approval, but it is the least-expensive option able to do what we need it to. Second place on our value charts behind the Ashura, which barely qualifies, the NH-U14S is effective enough to allow a 31° case temperature before our Core i7-4770K at 4.5 GHz started throttling under unusually stressful test loads. In other words, it allows us to get most of our intended performance most of the time.
