category: Socket FM2     website: eTeknix.com

With 8000 series HD Radeon graphics on-board and still a remarkably low price point for upgrade with a simple BIOS update needed, AMD have got the entry level and mainstream user markets locked firmly in their grasp.

Cooler Master CM Storm Havoc Review reported at 10:58 AM
category: Mice     website: Techgage
Article Quote:
So is the CM Storm Havoc worth its $54.99 asking price? I think the answer truly depends on whether or not you’re willing to overlook its deficiencies (primarily in the software) and quirks. If Cooler Master wrote and provided an effective user’s manual describing how to get the best out of it, then that would be the biggest boon and would eliminate the biggest problem I have with the Havoc. The quirks of the hardware side of the equation are more minor in comparison; either you can tweak the mouse to get around the quirks, or you can eventually adapt to the unusual difference in feel between the left side and the right side of the mouse. If you can forgive these faults, then $54.99 is a great price for such a fully-featured product with truly superior ergonomics and great built quality. But if I’m being brutally honest, at this point, the flaws are too hard to ignore.

XFX Radeon HD 7790 Black Edition Review reported at 10:56 AM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: Hardware.Info
Article Quote:
XFX has created a very nice graphics card with the Radeon HD 7790 Black Edition 1 GB. When you compare it to the competition, it doesn't stand out, however. ASUS and Sapphire also have a 7790 running at 1075 MHz, and for less money. When you take into consideration that the ASUS card is more silent as well, our first pick would therefore not be the XFX card.

Patriot Viper 3 Black Mamba DDR3-2400 2x4GB Kit Review reported at 10:53 AM
category: DDR3 Memory     website: ocaholic
Article Quote:
"What we have in the end is another strong upper midrange product. There is nothing seriously wrong with the DDR3-2400 version of Viper 3; the only thing we managed to come up with a valid complaint about is the PCB color. Moreover, Patriot’s unorthodox selection of memory chips provided lots of positive emotions during the overclocking part of our testing, which is exactly the thing we are seeking for being an overclockaholic website."

All in all this is one of the best budget cases that I have seen. You are not going to find many other cases at this price point that offer as many features.

Western Digital Caviar SE Review reported at 10:38 AM
category: IDE Hard Drives     website: Techware Labs
Article Quote:
I know it’s hard to get excited about spinning drives these days, with SSD performance taking the spotlight, but I believe that Western Digital really hit a sweet spot with the WD Se drives. With similar performace to the Re drive, but a lower cost per gigabyte, enterprise consumers now have a lower cost alternative. Additionally, SOHO/SMB consumers have a more reliable and higher performing alternative over the WD Red drive without the full enterprise price tag. The WD Se drive really completes the WD product portfolio and offers the consumer more flexibility in choosing a drive that meets their needs with less trade-offs.

Seagate Desktop HDD.15 4TB Review reported at 10:34 AM
category: SATA Hard Drives     website: Tom's Hardware
Article Quote:
The Desktop HDD.15 is Seagate’s first desktop drive boasting a massive 4 TB capacity. When combine that big storage space with conservative thermals and efficiency-friendly power use, you get an ideal target for user data on the desktop. Hook it up next to a 128 or 256 GB SSD and enjoy the best of both worlds. It's also right at home in external direct-attached storage devices (DAS) and NAS appliances.

Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 Review reported at 10:28 AM
category: Computer Cases/Enclosures     website: techPowerUp!
Article Quote:
A lot of small improvements warrant the revision. These changes and its similar price tag make the Arc Midi R2 a better buy than the original, which may even be reason enough for some owners of the first to upgrade to the second.

"Not much to say about the Lexar P10, it’s an outstanding drive. Starting with the build quality, and moving on to the outstanding performance, the Lexar P10 is a step forward compared to the Lexar Triton, and can also be found for almost the same price as the Lexar Triton JumpDrive."

NZXT Kraken X60 Review reported at 10:17 AM
category: CPU Coolers     website: MadShrimps
Article Quote:
The performances of the all-in-one liquid cooling systems seem to improve significantly from a generation to another, while keeping a simple mode of installation. The NZXT Kraken X60 is a good example of this, being able to deliver high performance even at low fan speeds, thanks to the 280mm radiator. The only downside in this case would be the fact that it would not fit in all cases and we would need to check the compatibility PDF or do our own measurements before purchasing the product.

Thermaltake SMART M Review reported at 09:59 AM
category: Power Supplies     website: APH Networks
Article Quote:
The Thermaltake SMART M750W is definitely a 'smart' choice if you are looking for a budget oriented modular power supply. Using full Japanese-made capacitors down to the secondary caps, a good solid design, and build quality that isn't lacking, there is a lot to love in the Thermaltake SMART M750W given the price range. The only downside is that the fan runs a bit on the loud side. If you're looking for something with a decent price to performance ratio, the Thermaltake SMART M750W is a good product to consider.
