Fractal Design Define XL R2 Review reported at 05:53 PM
category: Computer Cases/Enclosures     website: APH Networks
Article Quote:
The Fractal Design Define XL R2, on the other hand, is quite literally just a Define R4 sized 120%. It is much more closely related to the Define R4 than the Define XL. Is this a bad thing? Maybe not, since the Define R4 is definitely one of the best cases in the market today. But for a full tower case, it is probably reasonable for me to expect more features in the Define XL R2, than just being bigger than its mid tower variant. For about $130 at press time, this full tower chassis is priced a bit lower than the original Define XL when it first came out. I did not find the first expensive for what you get, but for those who did, the Define XL R2 will offer even more bang for your buck.

Western Digital Sentinel DX4000 Review reported at 12:20 PM
category: Computer Cases/Enclosures     website: eTeknix.com
Article Quote:
"Western Digital have got the right idea for making their own system with some hardware and design features that I would like to see used on other models and whilst the Windows Storage Server makes it easy to configure and up & running, its limited feature set and drive compatibility does let this system down in respect to what the competition has to offer."

Seagate Desktop HDD.15 Review reported at 12:13 PM
category: SATA Hard Drives     website: Hardware.Info
Article Quote:
The Desktop HDD.15 4TB did manage to impress us. It's not a terrible idea to make a 4TB disk 5900rpm instead of something faster. When you want that type of volume, you don't buy it for speed. If you add an SSD alongside the Desktop HDD.15 4TB, you have the best of both worlds. Keeping the hard disk slower also keeps down the price, as 4.1 eurocent per GB is in line with the Western Digital Caviar Green 3TB, which isn't available in 4TB. It's an excellent disk in other words.

Scythe Big Shuriken 2 Review reported at 12:02 PM
category: CPU Coolers     website: eTeknix.com
Article Quote:
If you’re looking for a really small CPU cooler where every millimeter counts then the Big Shuriken 2 has got your back. Furthermore it does this while still retaining an excellent level of performance that is suitable for overclocking and more importantly for HTPCs, it stays very quiet. To top it all off the whole product lives up to Scythe’s usual excellent quality standards and comes very reasonably priced. We cannot recommend the Scythe Big Shuriken 2 highly enough and it exceeds in its market segment.

Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H Review reported at 11:55 AM
category: Socket 1150 Motherboards     website: Ninjalane
Article Quote:
Overclocking the GA- Z87X-UD4H was pretty straight forward due in part to the familiar Gigabyte UEFI. The larger Power IR Digital PWM really helped stabilize the system at higher speeds and produced very little heat compaired to what we had expected. It should be noted that memory overclocking on this motherboard is quite good thanks to the Haswell architecture and support for 3000Mhz memory modules.

Inno3D iChill GeForce GTX 760 Review reported at 11:49 AM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: MadShrimps
Article Quote:
The iChill GTX 760 implementation from inno3D comes with a well-build cooling system with 3 fans and pre-overclocked from the factory and succeeds to come very close to the non-GHz Edition version of the Radeon HD 7970. Besides that, for added value we also get a nice cloth pad inside the box that we can use at LAN parties or at home along with a high-performance gaming mouse.

Western Digital Caviar SE Review reported at 11:47 AM
category: IDE Hard Drives     website: HardwareCanucks
Article Quote:
By combining the best of both the RED and RE series of drives Western Digital has created an Enterprise grade storage device whose sum is greater than its parts. Just like the RE, the SE has been built using Enterprise grade standards and components, but it comes in at a price range which is budget friendly. The SE may never out compete the RE series on raw throughput, or the RED on value, but its unique blend of characteristics will give consumers that much needed middle ground option. For those times when neither the RED nor the RE are a perfect fit, the SE’s increased flexibility and versatility will make it highly competitive option.

MSI GeForce GTX 780 GAMING Review reported at 11:39 AM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: techPowerUp!
Article Quote:
With just a $10 price premium over the reference design bringing the total to $660, pricing of the MSI GTX 780 GAMING is extremely reasonable. The GTX 780 is of course not cheap, but that's the price you'll have to pay for the high-end. If you have that much money to spend, the GTX 780 is definitely a great choice, and you should definitely consider the MSI GTX 780 GAMING.

QNAP TS-469L Review reported at 11:37 AM
category: Storage Accessories     website: ThinkComputers
Article Quote:
The TS-469L is a great step up from the previous four bay models, including the QNAP TS-409U I reviewed several years ago and a TS-439U-RP, too. I had a desktop TS-409 Pro, as well, and that’s most comparable. The TS-469L is worth the upgrade, given the vastly larger amount of software available now. The TS-*69 series uses ATOM processors, as well, instead of the Marvell chipsets of yore.

Asus Z87-Plus Review reported at 11:29 AM
category: Socket 1150 Motherboards     website: Overclockers Club
Article Quote:
"Ultimately I was rather satisfied with this board. Perhaps it does OC as well as the others, but we'll have to wait and see how my chip does in another board. Until then, and actually regardless of the possible lower OC, this board is perfect for any new build. Besides the hideous Trans Am color scheme this board will bring to your case, it's quite the nice board at just the right price."

Corsair Obsidian 350D Review reported at 11:26 AM
category: Computer Cases/Enclosures     website: Benchmark Reviews
Article Quote:
If asked, “Should I buy the Corsair Obsidian 350D?” my answer would be an emphatic “YES!”. Corsairs first M-ATX case is near perfect, it provides a beautiful exterior, an easy to work with interior and expandability without being massive.
