SilverStone SUGO SST-SG09 Review reported at 05:43 PM
category: Computer Cases/Enclosures     website: Phoronix
Article Quote:
While the SilverStone SG09 deviates from the design of earlier Sugo enclosures, the SG09 overall is a very compelling case. SilverStone designers successfully made it so this case can hold a heck of a lot of hardware from two full-length PCI Express graphics cards to a tall CPU cooler to a standard ATX PSU and up to six disk drives all while within a very small form factor (220 x 354 x 295 mm). It was a delight working with the SG09 from construction to use. The only minor complaints I have about the Sugo SG09 is that it's not as quick to remove the side panels as some other enclosures due to the couple extra screws and the glue-on feet, which were extremely surprising to see on a SilverStone product.

SanDisk Ultra Plus Review reported at 11:43 AM
category: SATA Hard Drives     website: APH Networks
Article Quote:
It is simply too easy to be fooled by this uber lightweight, 7mm thick SSD with a PCB inside that occupies barely a third of the available room. But just because it is small on the outside and even smaller inside, it does not mean it is small in performance. The Marvell 9175 based SanDisk Ultra Plus is big on speed and big on efficiency.

Corsair Hydro H90 & H110 Review reported at 11:39 AM
category: CPU Coolers     website: PC Perspective
Article Quote:
Initially, I was reluctant about the abilities of these coolers because of their use of 1/4 inch tubing and barbs and the thickness of both units' radiators. Given the results witnessed in testing, my first impressions couldn't have been more incorrect. Both the H90 and H110 liquid coolers are top of the line units with performance that should impress any water-cooling enthusiast. At the price point, both units are a steal, especially in light of the fact that a high end water cooling radiator can run between $90 to $150 US.

NZXT Phantom 630 Review reported at 11:38 AM
category: Computer Cases/Enclosures     website: ThinkComputers
Article Quote:
When it comes down to it NZXT has made some notable improvements to the Phantom 820 at the same time you are losing some of the features we loved on the Phantom 820. The Phantom 630 is $179.99 at my favorite online retailer. That is $70 less than the Phantom 820. If you are having a hard time deciding which case to choose look at the features of both and see which case suits you better. If price is a big factor then it is an easy choice.

NZXT Hale90 Review reported at 11:37 AM
category: Power Supplies     website: techPowerUp!
Article Quote:
To conclude, the new HALE90 V2 units definitely have the looks to make them highly desirable amongst gamers and system modders, and they, above all, offer really good performance. Your choices are pretty limited if you want a white-colored 1 kW unit and are also a strong fan of fully modular units, so the new HALE90 V2 1000 W PSU should be on top of your list, although it will set you back a significant amount. However, you shouldn't forget that a good PSU - not a high capacity one, but a good PSU that matches your needs - is not a luxury; it is a real investment for your pocket, your system and, above all, the environment, since it will last longer and is much more efficient than a lousy PSU. So instead of buying an extremely high-end CPU to gain 0.1 sec of PI time, or a super expensive VGA to play at 2600x resolution with >100 frames, save that money and invest it into a high-quality PSU that will act as the power source to your entire system, positively influencing money spent on electricity, the environment, and everything inside of your computer.

SteelSeries Free Review reported at 11:19 AM
category: GamePads     website: MadShrimps
Article Quote:
"The SteelSeries Free can be found online for about 66 Euros, which is not very cheap. Hopefully the price will drop in the near future and if we will have more games supporting the controller on the mobile platforms, the controller will become a very interesting offering."

category: AMD Socket FM2 Motherboards     website: KitGuru
Article Quote:
"Overall we are quite impressed with what the Gigabyte F2A85XM-D3H has to offer. We managed to achieve a reasonable overclock in our tests which boosted system performance considerably, despite the limited cooling for the power regulation circuitry."

AMD Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition vs. Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 Review Review reported at 10:53 AM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: Hardware.Info
Article Quote:
We already concluded that both the Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 and the AMD Radeon HD 7970 are powerful enough to play any recent video game in Full HD resolution and maximum settings. When we look at the average frametime scores of the five games we tested the cards with, we arrive at 25.1 ms for AMD and 22.4 ms for Nvidia. Nvidia is somewhat faster, but it's card is also a bit more expensive.

Netgear ProSafe GS110T Review reported at 10:47 AM
category: Network Hubs & Switches     website: Benchmark Reviews
Article Quote:
"The new class of Smart Switches aren't for everyone, but for those that have a need for their expanded feature set, they're a real game changer. Their cost is way below business class switches, and they have just the right amount of tools and controls to make the difference between a secure network and one that's vulnerable from within. There are several models in the ProSafe product line that are similar to the GS110T, and have either fewer or more ports. They are close enough in design that a large portion of this review is applicable to them, as well. The models that have Power-Over-Ethernet (POE) are different enough on the hardware side that I can't really speak about them at this time. The software features I described should all be there, along with some additional tools for the power distribution functions."

Enermax ELC120 Review reported at 10:31 AM
category: CPU Coolers     website: eTeknix.com
Article Quote:
"With all that said, I find myself struggling to recommend the Enermax ELC 120 when the Corsair H90 & H55 and Cooler Master Seidon 120M offer much better performance for the price. The Enermax ELC 120 could be a decent proposition if you can manage to get it for £65 and your case only supports 120mm fans. Although there are numerous other similar products to consider from Corsair, Antec, Cooler Master and Thermaltake at the same price point. Compared to what else is on offer in the marketplace, the Enermax ELC 120 is precariously placed because it has slightly sub-par cooling performance for its price. It was nice to see Enermax enter the liquid cooling market and the ELC 120 is a reasonable starting product, but I think improvements need to be made if they want to be successful in this fiercely competitive market – particularly against the established AIO giants like Corsair and Antec."
