Western Digital VelociRaptor 1TB Review reported at 01:22 PM
category: SATA Hard Drives     website: eTeknix.com
Article Quote:
So to simplify that a little better, if you want SSD speeds but also want the larger hard drive capacity all in one package with the best components on the market, sure you could spend £3000 on SSDs, but lets be truthful, who would do that when you can get the same capacity and SSD speeds for only a fifth of the cost? I know what I would do if it needed that, would you? I’m sure you’ll agree that this little trio of drives together shows the VelociRaptor’s have made a comeback and with a punch, surely its worth our extreme performance award.

Asetek are the engineers behind the Thermaltake Water 2.0 Pro system and clearly by the results we've witnessed in this review, the engineers from Denmark know how to make a good liquid cooling solution for today's desktop computers. From a thermal performance standpoint, the Thermaltake Water 2.0 Pro liquid cooling solution offers excellent results at full fan speed.

AMD A85X Socket FM2 Motherboard Roundup reported at 01:09 PM
category: AMD Socket FM2 Motherboards     website: Hardware.Info
Article Quote:
When you weigh the number and type of extra features against the price then the Gigabyte GA-F2A85X-UP4 comes out on top. It earns the Hardware.Info Silver Award. If energy-efficiency is your thing, then the MSI board could be an interesting alternative.

Patriot Supersonic Rage XT Review reported at 01:04 PM
category: Tape/Zip/Jaz Drives     website: techPowerUp!
Article Quote:
Clocking in at just around 1.25 USD per GB, the Patriot Supersonic RageXT USB 3.0 manages to surprise. Considering the price and its compact size, one may not expect the fast speeds of high-end drives, but the Rage XT USB 3.0 takes the crown in terms of read performance by beating the competition with an average of over 181 MB/s. This is exactly in line with what Patriot advertises, but its write speed of around 42 MB/s falls a bit short of the published 50 MB/s. Still, its somewhat mediocre write performance can easily be forgiven with such a prize. While these attributes are certainly important, Patriot has even ensured that the USB connector is protected by a sliding mechanism. The unit can also be added to a key chain easily because of a hole in the back. All in all, this is a great little stick with quite a lot of "rage" in it.

Corsair Air Series Fans Review reported at 12:26 PM
category: Case Cooling Solutions     website: MadShrimps

With the Air fan series Corsair obtain a solid lineup in that department, particularly the difference between the Static Pressure and the Air flow makes picking a fan for a specific purpose far easier then wading through all them technical and sometimes confusing spec sheets.

Sapphire Pure Black 990FX Review reported at 12:22 PM
category: Socket AM3+     website: Overclockers Club
Article Quote:
Although I personally prefer that "black" PCBs be jet black and not dark brown, the Sapphire Pure Black is really a handsome board. The black and blue color scheme is really made with the blue anodized heat sinks topped off with silver insignia plates. This board is one of the reasons that side windows were invented for on a case and would look great in concert with a liquid cooling system.

Cougar Challenger Review reported at 12:21 PM
category: Computer Cases/Enclosures     website: eTeknix.com
Article Quote:
The Challenger earns itself our Editors Choice Award this week for being a solid all rounder, but if I were to purchase one today, I would likely go for the other colour choices such as the all black or the black/silver finish.

Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 3000 Review reported at 12:20 PM
category: Keyboards     website: OCModShop
Article Quote:
"While it is a compact design for an ergonomic keyboard, it really isn’t that much smaller than the 2000 model, and is still larger than a regular keyboard. It’s another good attempt by Microsoft, but is really suited for light office use."

NexusTek Prominent 5 Review reported at 12:14 PM
category: Computer Cases/Enclosures     website: NikKTech
Article Quote:
"The new Prominent 5 midi tower by NEXUS is also very reasonably priced since currently it can be found for at around 90Euros inside the EU. Unfortunately in the USA i was only able to find the previous Prominent 5 version which lacks the two USB 3.0 ports on the top I/O (has the Firewire/eSATA combo) and so i don't have a price for the new variant. However since the old variant currently retails for at around USD90 i expect the new one to retail for well over USD100. Bottom line if you hate noise and you don't change CPU Coolers on a regular basis (and so you really need a CPU hole on the mainboard tray) i really suggest taking a look at the Prominent 5 since i really doubt you can find something better or just as good in the sub 100Euros price segment and that's also why it gets our Golden Award."

BitFenix Outlaw Review reported at 11:58 AM
category: Computer Cases/Enclosures     website: NikKTech
Article Quote:
Certainly the Outlaw offers just the basics of what any PC Case should but it does so with a very low price tag and in the end that's what matters for most "regular" consumers who are not after the extra features found with more expensive PC Cases. So after all of the things mentioned in this review i can't think of a really bad thing to say about the BitFenix Outlaw and that's why it walks away with our Golden Award. All that's left now is to see a really ultra-High End PC Case by BitFenix which i hope is not far away (although i did say the same roughly 1 year ago).

Sapphire Pure Platinum A85XT Review reported at 11:49 AM
category: AMD Socket FM2 Motherboards     website: eTeknix.com
Article Quote:
This has been one of the most surprising FM2 boards I’ve tested since the launch, as I had reserved my mind that it was going to be similar to their previous boards, and I can now honestly say that I’m happy to eat my words, and would highly recommend this board to anyone looking at an AMD FM2 platform and requires a high-power, high-performing motherboard with no flaws. If that’s what you’re after, then this is definitely the board for you.
