MSI Big Bang Z77 MPower Review reported at 12:42 PM
category: Socket 1155 Motherboards     website: ocaholic
Article Quote:
We strongly recommand this motherboard to overclockers, who else. Top overclockers will go for motherboard like the Maximus V Extreme or Formula anyway but this motherboard is very good for beginners and enthusiasts. Especially because the BIOS is very simple and it does what you ask without adjusting a lot of settings and because of it's very attractive price. The MPower being 60 Euros cheaper than the Maximus V Formula for exemple.

category: SATA Hard Drives     website: HardwareCanucks

In the end, even though we could have hoped for even more performance, the SanDisk Extreme 240GB is particularly impressive. For its excellent price we award this drive our Dam Good Value award. For its ability to hold its own against most 16 NAND IC equipped SF2281 based drives we also award it our Dam Innovative award. If you are looking for a fast 240GB SSD, the SanDisk Extreme deservers to be on your short list for consideration.

Corsair Neutron & Neutron GTX Review reported at 12:37 PM
category: SATA Hard Drives     website: X-bit labs
Article Quote:
While benchmarking new Corsair SSDs from the Neutron GTX and Neutron series based on the previously unfamiliar LAMD LM87800 controller, we felt like driving a sports car in off-road racing. The new products have unprecedented hardware but cannot show its best in our specific test conditions. The LM87800 controller and its firmware are a very intellectual platform, perhaps the most intellectual among all other consumer-class SSDs available today. That’s why the Neutron GTX and Neutron can show record-breaking performance with long request queues, although their flash memory in not of any super-high-speed kind. However, the problem is that situations like that are not typical of desktop PCs. So, it turns out that LAMD and Corsair have come to desktop users with an enterprise-class SSD, which would be a better choice for servers.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti Roundup reported at 12:34 PM
category: Game Accelerator Cards     website: X-bit labs
Article Quote:
Notwithstanding the different clock rates of the eight GeForce GTX 660 Ti cards we’ve tested today, the slowest of them is only 6 to 8% behind the fastest. This difference doesn’t show up much in real-life applications. However, considering that the difference in price is only about $10, most of us will surely prefer the fastest versions, even for purely psychological reasons. The performance of the KFA2 model suggests that 3 GB of memory doesn’t ensure any tangible benefits compared to 2 GB, at least in 1920x1080 with antialiasing enabled. That’s why such factors as noisiness and efficient cooling become the most important criteria for choosing the best GeForce GTX 660 Ti. Overclocking potential is important too, yet we can’t evaluate it properly with only one sample of each card. So, below you can read our brief summary about each of the tested products.

ASRock Z77 OC Formula Review reported at 12:33 PM
category: Socket 1155 Motherboards     website: X-bit labs
Article Quote:
ASRock Z77 OC Formula is not a specific or very niche product that will be of interest to very few professionals out there, but an absolutely normal mainboard with excellent functionality, rich accessories bundle and excellent electron components base. If at some point you decide to give it a shot in the overclocking community, you will have all the richest functionality at your fingertips. Yes, you will have to pay for superb additional features, but even though this mainboard is priced above average, the price is still quite reasonable. This board is fast, relatively energy-efficient, almost completely flawless and boasts a ton of indisputable advantages. If I were to describe this product with one phrase I would say: this is the mainboard I want for my system.

Cooler Master Storm Scout 2 Review reported at 12:12 PM
category: Computer Cases/Enclosures     website: Overclockers Club
Article Quote:
A few more fans in this case would dramatically increase the performance of the case, without doubt. However, the savings seen here will easily allow for the purchase of such fans without a loss to the quality of the case. Although it isn’t quite on par with some of the “higher-end” CM cases, it’s on par with CM standards, which are never disappointing. You have the quality of a top-end case without the sticker shock – the CM Storm Scout 2 is an awesome mid-ranged mid-tower case. If you are looking for an affordable case that screams quality, look no further.

Zalman CNPS9900DF Review reported at 12:03 PM
category: CPU Coolers     website: Frosty Tech
Article Quote:
"If we look only at sub-154mm tall heatsinks, the Zalman CNPS9900DF heatsink offers very good to better-than-average cooling performance, about 5°C off the best air cooled heatsink in this subset. Recommended for lower noise cooling situations."
