"The SanDisk Extreme II 240GB is a thin and light high performance SSD that uses modest amounts of power at a reasonable price."
"SanDisk’s Extreme II SSD packages a complex combination of components and features that perform well, but not extraordinarily well. The 19nm Toggle NAND Flash does produce impressive data transfer speeds, but the Marvell 88SS9187 SSD processor isn’t as powerful in IOPS performance as we’ve seen from other new products. IOPS results notwithstanding, the SanDisk Extreme II SSD does do something almost nobody else does: offer a five-year product warranty on their drive. Combine this with the slightly lower price tag, and you’ve got a solid balance of features and value."
"The Extreme II line of drives from Sandisk are some of the best drives on the market today and should be a definite contender for the short list of parts on any new system build or even for an upgrade."
"The performance of the Extreme II with its Marvell controller and SanDisk custom firmware is excellent. The only dark spot was steady state trace-based performance in PCMark Vantage, but we would expect this to be ironed out as the SSD matures. All other tests indicate that the Extreme II is a top three contender for the enthusiast dollar. For good performance, a great warranty period, and a software tool that eases the management of the SSD, we give the SanDisk Extreme II the Silver [H]ardOCP Editor's Choice Award."
"In terms of pricing, the Extreme II is positioned in the high-end segment. Only the Coirsair Neutron GTX v2 and OCZ Vector 256GB are more expensive based on price per GB. The OCZ Vector is also one of the fastest Serial ATA 600 SSDs currently on the market, especially under continuous loads. The same can't be said of the Extreme II. Its performance is above average, but not on the level of the Vector or the Samsung 840 Pro. The Samsung SSD is also more affordable. For this reason we can't really recommend the Sandisk Extreme II, despite the fact that it's a very good SSD."
