"The way I see it, if they could shave about a third off its thickness, it would have been perfect. Looks aside, how is the performance? Well, I cannot say it is really better, if at all, compared to the last generation, so a little boost here would have been nice. This is not to say this drive is slow though, because it is not. At the end of the day, for about $40 at press time, if you don't mind trading a bit of chunkiness for a quality feel, the Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 32GB is a strong contender against other USB 3.0 flash drives."
"Bottom line, the DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 is one of the best non-HyperX drives that we’ve seen from Kingston to date, based not only on its clean & refined looks, but also its outstanding performance and excellent price point."
"The Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 has everything that you will need, it has the looks, the build quality, and most importantly it has excellent performance for a USB3 flash drive. Also you don’t have to pay a fortune to get all this."
"Although the DataTraveler Ultimate G2 was and still is a good flash drive with good read/write speeds it has but one single flaw and that is its hard plastic and rather bulky casing. Well thanks to a retractable design casing made primarily by metal, a new controller and new flash memory chips the Ultimate G3 is not only almost twice as fast compared to its predecessor but it also looks and feels a lot better. I have to say that i was slightly surprised to see that Kingston used the same (more or less) casing for both the Ultimate G3 and the massive PREDATOR (i would expect something unique for a 512GB/1TB drive) but for owners of the Ultimate G3 that's a very good thing. The only downside i can think of is the exposed USB connector at all times (its front anyways) so one day i hope that manufacturers can come up with a way to solve this (and why not even make such drives water/dust proof while they are at it)."
"Basic USB 3.0 flash drive that's fast, durable, and well priced."
