Roundups and Shootouts

Intel Pentium 4 C Series Review - GamePC
"If you're already the owner of a 533 MHz FSB Pentium 4 processor, there doesn't seem to be a compelling reason to shell out the bucks for an upgrade. On a clock for clock basis, adding the 800 MHz FSB and Hyper-Threading elements generally can provide up to a 15% boost in processor performance in the best case. Most games and applications show around 3-5% difference. Not much, but still enough to give the processors a nice kick in the benchmark charts."

Athlon XP vs. Pentium 4 CPU Review - Hardware Zone
"The winner of this 32-bit CPU showdown goes to Intel Pentium 4 for its excellent performance, consistent performance scaling and reasonable pricing strategy. Although AMD gave Intel a good fight to the end and lost the showdown, they did not walk away empty-handed as we have decided to award them the Best Value award for its excellent value offered by both the Athlon XP 2500+ and Athlon XP 2600+ processors."

Intel/AMD CPU Shootout - Hardware Zone
"The new processors from both AMD and Intel were nothing but impressive. Both the Athlon 64 FX-53 and Intel Pentium 4 3.4GHz Extreme Edition processors are probably the fastest desktop processors that money can buy today. Although both adopt very different architectures, they are both quite comparable in terms of performance."

Intel Prescott 2.8E vs. Northwood 2.8C P4 Review - HardwareZoom.com
"...the Prescott with 1MB Cache is probably the next best thing for those who want the latest technologies in their system. Moreover the price for Prescott is around the same as the Northwood, so there is no harm if you want to try out Prescott."

Intel 800MHz FSB Pentium 4 Roundup - SharkyExtreme
"The release of the Intel Pentium 4-2.8C, 2.6C and 2.4C GHz processors is significant for many reasons. The most obvious is the upgraded 800 MHz front-side bus, and the ability to run at synchronous dual-channel DDR400 speeds, both of which increase performance quite noticeably. But just as important is Intel moving Hyper-Threading technology down to the mass market level, and really giving the new processors an advantage over non-HT Pentium 4 models, not to mention the entire Athlon XP line."

Intel Pentium 4 C Series CPU Roundup - Tech Report
"This new lineup of Pentium 4 chips is unquestionably an improvement, and I'm pleased to see Intel migrating high-end features like a faster bus and Hyper-Threading back down its product line. These new features bring striking performance gains in tasks like gaming, graphics, video encoding, 3D rendering, and speech recognition. If you plan on buying a Pentium 4 any time soon, make sure you get a "C" rev chip (or the 3.0GHz model)."

Intel 800MHz Pentium 4 Processor Roundup - Techware Labs
"The Intel 800 MHz FSB Family of processors truly lives up to its name."
