No longer will architects and analysts have to guess at how many drives will be needed to satisfy projected demands. Instead, they can more accurately estimate how many drives they need without having to waste precious budget, rack space, electricity and cooling on over-building a storage server. This alone makes the DC S3700 tailor made for Enterprise consumers. The actual reasonable price per Gigabyte will just make it all that much more enticing. It may have taken years for Intel to release a new controller, but the DC S3700 series prove that it was time well spent."

"Intel may not have designed the DC S3700 for the home user market but it may be able to make some inroads nonetheless. Many are deciding against jumping onto the SSD bandwagon due to numerous reports of premature failure but Intel’s new datacenter drive virtually eliminates that possibility. Choosing whether to buy the DC S3700 or not will come down to priorities. Are you willing to pay more for reliability or save a few bucks on a faster yet potentially shorter lived solution?"
