Dell SmartStep 250N review
Not too terrible
It has a great screen, a wonderful keyboard and it is pretty fast and reasonably priced. The bad:
The chip that was put into the SmartStep is a standard Pentium 4 chip and as a result it overheats continually when running large loads such as games, when the chip overheats, it either shuts down the system or it just locks up. This can be very frustrating.Summary:
I really like this computer however the shutting down has got to end. I recently found a fix for this problem solved by someone on the internet (I think it is out of France) but he posted a very helpful fix to this problem. Unfortunately, use it only if you are skilled with computers, it is pretty technical and it will require taking out your CPU and thermal plate therin. His website is http://seb.closs.free.fr/articles/tutoP4_en.php I hope this is helpful.
