"When it comes down to it though sometimes in life we all need a cheap solution to a particular need. The CS650M will be that for a lot of people... for us, we would stick a bit extra money aside and go for a higher spec Corsair model with longer warranty and slightly higher spec component choice."
"Another good power supply from Corsair, targeting an enthusiast user on a fairly tight budget."
"The CS Modular Series adds yet another new tier to Corsair’s already formidable PC power supply offering. The CS650M test unit produced very good DC load regulation with very good efficiency (easily met 80Plus Gold certification criteria) across a full range of loads. And the unit was able to keep AC ripple and noise well under control, even at full load. The CS650M comes with a good assortment of fixed and flat ribbon-style cables. The main 24-pin ATX, 4+4-pin ATX/EPS, and PCI-E connector cables are nice and long (25”-29”). The only minor issues we could find to complain about are the 3-year warranty and use of a sleeve bearing fan."
"To sum up, the CS650M is a good PSU, but I think its price should be lower than 100 bucks to increase its price/performance ratio and widen the price gap between it and the higher RM650 unit a bit. At its current price, many users will definitely consider the longer warranty of the RM650 unit and that unit's similar performance and fully modular design superior because ten bucks isn't a real deal breaker, and I would also like to see a revision of this unit with better ripple suppression at +12V and an MOV."
