"Cooler Master have made big improvements to their popular 690 range, providing us with a product that is competitively priced, while ticking the box of everything you could ask for in a high-end chassis or system build without moving onto more hardcore enthusiast products. It’s easily one of the best sub £100 chassis on the market today and its style wouldn’t look out of place as a gaming rig or an office work station."
"The CM 690 III is showing a very familiar outside, but the inside has certainly been overhauled with some upgrades to improve the product and make it a little more suited for the demands of 2013, the USB 3.0 ports are especially appreciated of course. The CM 690 III series remains a classic and even after all these years we still love that original concept. The new upgrades make it a very interesting purchase in the 80 to 90 EUR range. We can most certainly recommend it."
"The CM 690 III is one of the best at cooling components, as you can see here, while the price is excellent. At this price point, the CM 690 III is a uniquely complete chassis of outstanding quality. The improvements may be incremental over the previous version, but it's the perfect evolution and sets a new standard for mid-range desktop chassis. Only one award is appropriate here, and that's the Gold Award."
"The CM 690 III definitely is worth the money, though we would have liked to see some of the CM 690 II’s key features make a return."
"We were pleasantly surprised with how the manufacturer has managed to create a product so good while maintaining a low price. The CM 690 III is well made, the steel frame is solid and the finish is above average compared to competitors in the same price range. There is plenty of interior space, which may satisfy the need of almost any user. However, we have found a couple of downsides, for example, the panel that covers the I/O connectors and power/reset buttons is poorly designed and feels very cheap. Other than that we can't understand why Cooler Master got ride of the SATA how-swap bay, which has been one of the best features with the CM 690! Other than that the fans included are good but only feature 3-pin headers."
