THE GOOD: 1. It's cheap. A 2.1 speaker setup for ~60 bucks is a great price. 2. Above average sound quality, for this price point. 3. Compact 4. Reputable Brand
THE BAD: 1. Any way you slice it, these are cheap speakers.
SUMMARY: Now, before I start, I have to say that these *are* good speakers. For 60 bucks, you'd be hard pressed to find another setup that's better than the BA635's.
But my negative review of this systems comes from the fact that cheap setups, are just that, cheap. Why spend 60 bucks for an OK speaker system when you can spend around 120-150 for a *much* better 4.1 or 5.1 system? Like the BA4800's (150.00) or the Midiland S4-7100's (170.00)? If you're saying that higher-end setups like the BA4800's are almost 3x the price of the BA635's, keep in mind that "3x's" the price is 120 bucks. Now 120 bucks isn't anything to sneeze at, but what is 120 bucks anyway? Four nights out for dinner? three new video games?
I can *guarantee* that you'll be much happier with a higher quality...
These are easily the best sounding speakers under $150. The BA625 set used to sell for 99US, but now Boston Acoustics has lowered the price to something like $69, and even at $99 they were a steal!
Some of you will be skeptical because the subwoofer and the speakers are really tiny, but they sound a lot larger than their size... I have tried some speakers from Altec and Labtech and these are definitely the best out there.
