"The ASUS Blitz Extreme shows to be a extremely solid and dependable DDR3 motherboard that has more solid features that can be found on almost any other motherboard while being highly overclockable. We cant help but give this board a Silver Editors Award, but it is hard to suggest it over its DDR2 counterpart. As DDR3 and the motherboards mature, it will obviously become the choice to make, but as it stands now, the DDR2 platforms are the ones to look to."
"It's quite safe to say that the Asus Blitz motherboard in an impressive piece of hardware. The bundle is ample and the features are many, that much we can all agree on. I would have liked to tested the Crosslink performance to see what some 8x by 8x CrossFire action would play like. Unfortunately, there isn't much to compare against since there aren't any other Core 2 based Intel P35 chipset boards out there running DDR3 memory than allow for 8x by 8x PCI-e speeds. There are hacks to pull it off, but they can often skew the results."
"Asus have taken all the best qualities from their previous motherboards, combined it with feedback from enthusiasts and come out with a product that satisfies on every level. Not only is the Asus Blitz packed to the brim with features like Fusion water cooling, Voltiminder LED, Crosslinx and LCD Poster but the board performs like an absolute gem too.
In addition to this, the Blitz Extreme will have even the most hardcore overclockers beaming from ear to ear. With a BIOS that's jam packed with features and an insane range of voltages options, the Blitz is designed to help you get out every ounce of performance from you hardware without being overly complicated."
"While the use of high performance DDR3 memory offers incredible bandwidth at higher frequencies, it is not quite mainstream yet. Several reasons are the loose timings and high prices for performance DDR3 memory. Kind of like reliving the transition to DDR2 all over again. Even with those knocks on DDR3, there is a definite performance advantage to having the memory bandwidth available. The Blitz Extreme is a full featured board that gives the best of both worlds, speed and stability; two things high on my list of must haves when it comes to new hardware. If migrating to DDR3 is in the works for your next buildup, then the Asus "Blitz Extreme" motherboard offers a level of performance and overclocking capabilities that would be hard to pass up."
"The Asus BLITZ Extreme motherboard is based on Intel's mainstream P35 Express chipset, and while it's not quite as quick as the Intel P35 Express/DDR2 Asus BLITZ Formula motherboard combo, it is still plenty quick. When quad core processors become more popular DDR3 should start to prove its worth as it's the only memory standard which can provide enough bandwidth to those hungry processors. Of course if you're into overclocking the Asus BLITZ Extreme will definitely keep you happy; we were able run the BLITZ Extreme at a very quick 530 MHz FSB. The Asus BLITZ Extreme is comes fully loaded but its price may keep it out of the hands of all but the hardcore enthusiast. Pity since it's a motherboard that all would love to use, that's for sure!"
