"It's tiny, does exactly what it was meant to do, and it does it resoundingly well."
"We love the design of the iPod Shuffle and the way it sounds, but feel that it could have offered more to the consumer. The iTunes software works great but you are stuck with it as your only choice of software making this a very non-versatile product. The iPod Shuffle is good at what it does, but it will have you begging for more."
"The Apple iPod shuffle is affordable and stylish, yet iTunes' AutoFill function needs some more work."
"...if you’re in the market for a flash based player, what makes or breaks the deal on the shuffle is whether you feel you’ll miss having a screen or not. The absence of one will certainly put off anyone who wants to have control of their music, but by going down this path Apple has been able to offer a serious amount of storage for the price and as ever, the integration with iTunes gives it a step-up over other players. So while it may not appeal to a more demanding user, if you want a second player for the gym or something relatively inexpensive and easy to use for the kids, the iPod shuffle is a good choice. But control freaks need not apply."
"I would never recommend the Shuffle as a primary music player. The lack of a screen is just too big of a flaw for anyone who would use it all the time. Apple created a lower cost player to break further into the solid-state market, and has succeeded. Part of the genius is that without a screen it doesn’t really have to compete with the original Ipods and Minis. Overall it’s tiny, ultra light, and beautiful. With a reasonable price and good battery life, it definitely more than gets the job done. The Shuffle proves that great things definitely do come in moderately priced small packages, but not without some sacrifices."
