Diamond Rio 600 User ReviewsPC
I dosnt eat batteries(last 12hrs per AA Battery)
Plays the best music formats .mp3 .wma .ogg
Dosnt glitch out to much
Dosnt Freeze like some other players
Firmware updates kill this player!!!
No BackPacks like advertised when purchased
(32MB packs only)
Never have recived any support on this Product
Had to downgrade the FirmWare to use it effectively
and it was a headache to get this Thing to work with Windows Media Player 9
All and all this is a gotta have for its size, light weight design and ease of use. No real complaints.
someone who Has a link to a site where to get the BackPacks larger than 32mb please leave a link so others can find out whats there.
(NOTE:Firmware downgrade is NOT possible via Software, "that I know of")
I got a new Board with older firmware 1.15
it's worked ery well so farThe bad:
It does eat bateries a bit quicker than I likeSummary:
I got mine as a Xmas pres, not my initial choice, but as I didn't buy it I ain't gonna complain (yet!) It is used for my 2-2½ hour daily total commute time.
Loaded the software ok, though I tend to use RealJukebox as the interface. Haven't yet upgraded the firmware (currently v1.15) and looking at other reveiws I don't think I'll bother.
I would like to get the 340MB backpack, yet cannot find any mention of this on Rio's site, nor can I track down any mention of this anywhere on the web :-(
I like the shape and use and can get approx 35-40 tracks (mp3s @ 64kbps) onto the 64MB memory. I am usin...
When it works, sounds good, looks cool, is light. The bad:
When it locks up + conks out, it stinks.Summary:
Got it in Jan./03.
Locked up 2nd day. Had to flash firmware.
Conked out a week later. Couldn't revive for 2 days.
Revived via flashing again, but sound was static + muffled.
Recovered by itself overnight.
Bottomline: seemingly lousy quality control;
nonexistent support from sonicblue -- robotic emails + no human voice at
long distance phone number.
Not a dependable machine....YET.
I've still got my fingers crossed. When it works, it's great.
Battery life is reasonableThe bad:
It has a low pitched buzzing through the left earpiece.Summary:
The buzzing is low in both tone and volume. When I spoke to Rio the answer I got was "yes, some of them do that." Even with different headphones the noise is still there. The controls are rather anoying, with the buttons being too small. The disc control seems to prefer to stop the track rather than memely pause it!
Spend your money on something else.
worked flawlessly for 60 daysThe bad:
seems inclined not to work after 60 days...Summary:
Unit will not power up. New batteries, new backpack...nothing. No tech support worth the name.
It's really small and light! (wiffout the backpacks i mean)The bad:
The player can't player mp3 OR wma songs after a while.Summary:
Okee, I agree wiff mosdt of the reviews here, but the one that stuck out for me wasStealth's review, because the SAME thing happened to my player! And yes, I had returned my first one too! :0( Buts, et should be noted that ma second one broke after a year, so although et really smells, at least the second one I got lasted longer... *sigh*
