THE GOOD:
Good printer, fair scanner and copier

THE BAD:
Can't be networked, and needs the irritating multi pass monitor to work.

SUMMARY:
I wouldn't buy another because of the lack of networking ability, but I didn't know it at the time. The printer is good quality, the color seems good. It works well. The ink seems to last a reasonalble amount of time but I havn;t had another color inkjet so that may not be a good comparison.

THE GOOD:
Print quality is among the best I've seen.
Print speed is excellent, even in full color (b&w is super fast).
Scanner is very convenient and works great.
Included OCR software is excellent.
Replacement inks are moderately priced.

THE BAD:
No linux support for the scanner.
Paper tray is small (holds less than 50 pages).

SUMMARY:
I bought this unit last christmas when it was pretty new on the market, based on 1 review I found that seemed pretty favorable. I love it. It was only last month that I finally stubled upon a linux driver for it that works (printing only). I don't know if they'll ever get the scanning function to work, since Canon hasn't been real cooperative with the Open Source community.

In windows it works fantastic, although the button-bars and status widgets they install are REALLY annoying. You can't turn them off without disabling a lot of important notifications. You can share...
