print me¿Stealth kill moves that stop halfway through?
You may have noticed that from time to time, when you perform a stealth kill move on a enemy the animation won't fully play. This is due to a bug, the stealth kill animations can only play properly perfectly flat ground and when nothing gets in the way of the character movements. If there is an object or something, the animation will stop and you will be returned to the "normal view" and you will see the enemy dying again XD
To put it simply, the animations of Stealth kill moves won't work like they should unless you are in a flat ground and there are no objects that could interfere with the animation.
print meCancel the effect of poison
If you get poisoned and you don't have an antidote the venom will kill you after sometime. But there is a way to avoid it. You'll get damaged only if running so try crouching. You still are poisoned, but won't suffer the effects. To advance try rolling, constant moving while holding R1 or run a bit then crouch. This method will make the level longer to complete, but you won't die. This trick works 100% in the NTSC-US version of the game.
print meCancelling the use of an item
This is a very important feature that you should use in order not to waste items, simply press the SQUARE button while holding the TRIANGLE button. It's very useful if you need to reposition yourself before aiming.
print meDifferences between Normal and Hard difficulty
The following are the differences between Normal and Hard difficulty settings:
1)Enemies have a longer field of vision.
2)Enemies will stay on alert for a longer period of time.
3)The enemies and bosses will use certain items more often.
4)When bodies fall they alert enemies that are close by to your location.
print meDragging bodies
In Tenchu 2 you can drag enemies bodies after killing them, to do so press R1 near the body and hold the circle button, your character will grab the body and you'll be able to move it wherever you want, this is useful to avoid other guards from noticing the body of one of their allies.
Note: If you are using Rikimaru or Ayame, you'll need to sheathe your weapon first, before dragging a body.
print meGuarding (two ways)
In Tenchu 2 you have two ways to guard yourself against enemy attacks, you can either hold the circle button and you will block all attacks coming from the front (you can't guard against back attacks and certain special attacks) or you can simply hold DOWN while having you weapon on and your character will also guard automatically.
print meStealing items
To steal items from dead enemies, you simply have to press R1 near the enemy's body. Your character will check the body for items and grab them, if this doesn't happen you'll hear a "sound" like the one you hear when you remove items or cancel the use of one. This means that the enemy doesn't have any items to steal. BUT sometimes, you'll hear this even though the enemy does carry items, when this happens it means that the dead body isn't on a flat ground. What you should do is move the body and try to steal the items again.
print meStealth kills, how to perform each one.
There are a total of 7 different Stealth kills for each character (Rikimaru, Ayame & Tatsumaru):
1) Press the Square button behind an enemy that is in "?" status.
2) Press the Square button to the left of an enemy that is in "?" status.
3) Press the Square button to the right of an enemy that is in "?" status.
4) Press the Square button directly in front of an enemy that is in "?" status. This one can be hard to perform sometimes, but it is possible. If you can't do it, but you wish to see the animation, you can always use a "CAMOUFLAGE" item to make yourself invisible and go directly in front of an enemy and press Square.
5) Press the Square button while crouching near an enemy that is in "?" status.
6) Press the Square button while in mid-air when you are jumping towards an enemy that is in "?" status.
7) This is the hardest one to perform, you need to bump into an enemy and make them go to "!?" status. So that they are aware of your presence but you don't give them time to react. So bump into the enemy from behind and once he goes "!?" press the Square button.

print mePerforming Stealth kills while your weapons are sheathed (Rikimaru & Ayame)
When you hit the Square button near the enemy, the stealth kill animation will begin regardless of whether your weapon is sheathed or not. This bug can be used in your advantage since Rikimaru and Ayame move slower than normal will their weapons sheathed.
This WON'T work if you try to do it on a ground that isn't perfectly flat or a place where there isn't enough space like to perform the Stealth kill animation.
