Alert Carry is something that has been put in every halo game so far. there are different ways to use this technique.

Halo 1: just look down. from the third person perspective, you put down your gun, but you're head is looking forward.

Halo 2: down on the D-Pad (or control pad, for those of you who don't know what a D-Pad is)

halo 3 (and ODST): hold LB, RB, A, Left Thumbstick (Crouch), D-pad "down" hold all for 3 seconds.

Halo Reach: this one depends on your weapon configuration. hold reload, grenade switch, zoom/scope, and down on the D-Pad. hold these for 4 seconds, and you will hear a swish/click sound. you may release all of the buttons.

these are methods used for creating Machinima for Youtube. if you don't know what Machinima is, Google it. I don't have the time to explain it (or the ability)

in this game there ARE death drops so keep that in mind

If you frequently finish your Multiplayer Matchmaking games, your credit bonus will be considerably higher than someone who quits.

Pick a firefight map (some players may want one with a plasma turret or a machine turret, ill explain this later). Put all of the settings to the max, in your favor (bottomless clip, max damage taken, max damage dealt, etc), then put all the NPC settings to the max in their favor, and turn on all the skulls. Now, for the loadouts, use whatever weapon combos you like the most. I choose explosive weapons because i like to blow my enemies to bits. Now, if you don't like explosives, its fine because if you are playing on a map with a turret of any kind and your forte is shredding your enemies instead of exploding them, just detach a turret and run around without letting go of fire. Its extremely unfair to your enemies, but hey, payback's a *bleep* and its fun to tank through masses of enemies without taking a single damage point, is it not? I racked up over a million points in several games this way and got tens of thousands of credits for it. Soooo, have fun!

for easy Cr and commendation farming, have two controllers, on the second controller sign in the profile you want to farm the commendations with, and on the first one either sign in on a guest, or alternate gamertag. load up the campaign and select any mission(except for long night of solace)and put the difficulty on legendary. then play on the controller that is signed in as the guest. this will allow you to play through the missions without dieing and will count towards the "flawless cowboy" commendation.(on a side-note, this is also an easy way to unlock the "carter's helmet" avatar award. happy hunting

To get easy credits, go into a game of Firefight Doubles with two controllers switched on. The second controller must be singed into to guest. When you are voting for the maps, switch the second controller off. Now you will be in Firefight Doubles on your own, which means you will earn 5000cR-6000cR every game.

Play through the Winter Contingency campaign mission on Heroic. When you are at the end cutscene save and quit just after Kat says: "The question of my life". When you resume the campaign again it will skip the whole mission and bring you back to menu but the game will think you completed the mission again. This will count towards your Flawless Cowboy commedation so you can get Onyx on it without even having to play.

Having a hard time killing all the incoming phantoms while waiting Keyes' order to shoot at the cruiser?
There's an easier way for getting past this part:
Get on the MAC cannon. When you get on it, the phantoms will start coming along with the cruiser. Quickly get off it and take cover behind it. You should be safe from the Phantoms' fire. Eventually you'll hear Keyes' order to destroy the ship. This is when you should quickly go on the MAC cannon and accurately aim for the core!

this glitch allows you to drop your weapon in game. it only works in forge mode, and you require a turret of any kind and an armor ability of any kind.

you place the turret and pick up the armor ability. grab and rip off the turret. after doing this, walk backwards, press A, melee, and use your armor ability all at the same time.

if it works you should have nothing but your helmets hud on screen (unless you had two weapons. if you did, do the glitch again.)

this can be used for Machinima in Halo Reach. if you want to, you can combine this with the Alert Carry Tip (found in the tips section) and your Spartan/Sangheili(elite) will put their arms down.

if you touch a weapon of any kind on the ground, wall, ceiling or air, your character will automatically pick it up. you have no choice in the matter.

If you leave behind your Warthog and there are Elites in the area, sometimes the Elites will jump onto the rear gun and begin firing it at UNSC forces. However, their aim is not that good so as long as you keep moving around, you should be fine.

You will need a Plasma Pistol for this. Half way through the mission you will see a Falcon flying above a hill. Run up the hill and charge your Plasma Pistol. Shoot it down with the charge and you will be able to fly it. You can fly it anywhere around the map.

Put 2 Armour Locks down, activate one then go into edit mode. Go to the other Armour Lock & click Delete All of These. Come out of edit mode and you are invincible to everything except assassinations.

in the level new alexandra when you go to club arrera land but don't get out then look for a building with a blue symbol go to it fin the one with the fire covering half the wall look around the fire keep going down the should be a openning were it doesn't look like you can land f you see that your close keep going down the the next openning land there go into a small room there will be (or there should be) a green switch use it go back to club arrera and go in if you look at the grunts they should be dancing look around for the dj (which is a brute) then look for a bar the bartender is (of course) a brute

DO NOT SHOOT THE BRUTES OR GRUNTS MOST OF THE GRUNTS HAVE FUEL RODS AND THEY WILL ATTACK

if you have shot someone and you wern't done dancing head back to your falcon and you to the top of club arrera and land there next go under the pipes there should be another switch there then go back to club arrera and they should start dancing again

WARNING: THERE IS NO 3RD SWITCH

In the first playable mission,do the glitch where you can fly a falcon. After obtaining the falcon,have an elite hijack you,the elite will now have no weapons.WAIT! There's more,if that elite hijacks you again,he will now be flying the falcon. He can and will shoot you.

You will need two people on co-op for this cheat to work.
Go to the campaign mission "New Alexandria", the one where you have to fly the Falcon through the city. After about three objectives, you will get told to go the ONI HQ. Instead, go back to Club Errena, the building with red neon lights in the north-west part of the city. When you get there, go to the tall building to the the west (left if your facing the Club)
At the north-western corner to this building, there will be an alcove running all the way up the building. There is a small green switch at the top of this alcove that gets activated when you get sent to the ONI HQ. The easiest way I've found to hit this button is get another player to stand on top of the Falcon. When you hit the button, you need to go directly south, to find a building with a massive teardrop shaped hole at the top. If you've pressed the button and you go through the hole in a Falcon, then it'll be turned into a Pelican.
Unfortunately, Bungie have made the Pelican so that you can't a) fire the weapons, and b) you can't get out without the Pelican disappearing.
On the bright side however, if you can manage to hijack a Banshee in the level without dying, and you then follow the process above (note: you'll probably want to press the button with the Falcon BEFORE you hijack the Banshee, because it's almost impossible to press it on the back of a Banshee)and when you fly through the gap in the Banshee, it will transform into a Covenant Dropship instead of the Pelican!
