If you want the Sound Test option the easy way, on the title screen, press A, A, Left, B, B, Left, C, C. You will hear a sound when the code is entered correctly. Restart your game and check the Options Menu. It should be there.
Complete the game on any difficulty level. Once you do so, the Sound Test will appear in the Options Menu.
