Wanna color your WHOLE pod with just ONE sticker?
Well, follow these steps!
1. Get any color sticker (Square shape IS recommended.)
2. Put it to MAXIMUM size.
3. Stamp it on.
And VOILA! Your WHOLE Pod is one color!
If you want 2 or more colors, follow THESE steps.
1. Get a color
2. Put it to halfway-to-maximum size. (Size varies between number of colors.)
3. Stamp it anywhere.
4. Get another sticker.
5. Follow steps 2 and 3 again.
VOILA! You are done!
A beginner creator needs to start slow and work their way to the top. Not just start out thinking you know everything, and then fail miserably, and never come back to it. Thats where this 'Easing in to level making' system comes from. You start at level on, or a higher whatever you think you can handle, and work your way up to a supreme LBP creator curator!
Level 1- Create a level using any amount of Mm items and materials you want, using an Mm template, and tweaking and learning some of the games mechanics via what Mm already did.
Level 2- Create a level Using Mm objects, and any combination of materials, but making your own custom background, no Mm template.
Level 3- Create a level with absolutely no mm objects found in levels, with your own custom background and own set of mechanics.
Level 4- Learn to use the piston, chains, string, and sensor switches and implement them in to a level with all Level 3 criteria. Pistons can be used on elevators, chains can be used on moving sponge hanging from the ceiling, string can be used on holding point balls in the air, and sensor switches can be used to make dissolve material disappear at certain moments.
Level 5- Combine everything from level 3 and 4 and add magnetic key switches and self pulled 2-way and 3-way levers to put a nice mechanical feel to a level. magnetic keys can be used on door, and the levers can be used in moving machinery or opening a door.
Level 6- Now add emitters to the list of objects, and create a trap for the player with 2 or more.
Level 7- Create a boss using everything from the first 6 levels with more than one brain.
Level 8- Add music, monsters, and point bubbles to the levels. And make the music, along with the lighting of the level using a world object change more than once throughout the level.
Level 9- Combine everything from the first 9 levels together in to one level. Now, make only certain sensor switches and magnetic key switches visible to the player to make it seem more Mm like. Make it look spaced out and even.
Level 10- Clean your levels up and make the sides that you can't get to unseeable in most parts to keep the player focused on your level, and not some moving object that controls the door on the other side of the wall. Implement everything from the first 9 levels to make at least 10 or more traps and add new puzzles like having to move blocks to certain places to open a door. remember a nice boss and finish the level with a detailed Score board.
Your levels should now look tip top shape in any condition as long as you followed every step to the lats period. Now you are a supreme creator curator. May you make awesome levels with hundreds of hearts and thousands of plays.
Here are some examples of a level 10 creator curator---
'Egyptian Expedition' by gdewitt
'Maxed Out 3'
Anything by x-Nobody-x
1. Only use like 3 different materials per level so as to use the smallest amount of the thermometer and get a super long level.
2. While making large objects, try to use the grids to separate the items so as to not make such complex items and make the game lag.
3. Organize your traps and puzzles nicely so one area is not all that complex while others are real empty, as that will result in massive lag in that area.
4. Depend on the levels lighting instead of manual lights as that will freeze up the game a lot and make the thermo a lot smaller a lot quicker.
5. Stylize every single layer so as to make your level aesthetically pleasing to the eye and the player playing it so they will bring their friend, but don't do it to much or you'll over do it and make it look way overcrowded and overwhelming. A nice medium is better.
6. Paint objects instead of getting a whole new material to do the same job.
More where this came from!
If ever you need to mount something, or want to hide something, that is going to fall when you get to a certain point, then you would use dissolve material. Normally you would use a combination of things, but when the player sees it, you wouldn't want it to be some stupid looking green tablet would you? The trick is....
Disguising the green material, also know as the Dissolve Material. Just take a picture of the most common thing around you as a surrounding, like a wall for example, and then place the sticker all over the green dissolve material. Then BAM! you've got a perfectly good looking piece of dissolve material, easily mountable on anything you want to hide up to a point, or just to hold something up, till that last fatal moment when the player walks in to the trap.
Take my new Metroid level for an example. It's called "Metroid Dread" and theres a few parts I use this technique in. After you get out of the Metroid infested Pirate base, you walk across very rainy lands past a seemingly normal little alcove in the ground. I disguised dissolve material on the ground so it looks just like anything else. But when you step on it it breaks open and you fall on to a bed of spikes. You can use this technique in hiding any number of things. Experiment with it to get the full extent of the tip.
Sometimes there are ways to get the trophies without the work. For example if you create your own lever with an emitter that emits point bubbles, then you can easily get the 20x trophy and the high score trophy.
If you are helping friends ace levels together, then you need this tip! If your friend is the host, have him/her enter the level, then have your friend turn off the controller at the beginning, so you can ace the level by yourself. Then have the friend come back at the end, when you've aced it. If you die, have them come back and restart.
1. Don't use the sticker and bring down the race straight away. Instead go past the two crabs, past the ships, down the wooden chute and release the ships.
2. Make sure you tag the checkpoint gong here.
3. Now make your way back to the start, avoiding the earlier checkpoint gong.
4. Activate the sticker and start the race.
5. Jump straight down and let the first crab kill you. You'll be transported forward through a good portion of the race. Should save about 20 seconds, so you can breeze through the rest of the level.
I have try-ed this and it works. May take one or two times if you screw up something

To make an invisible floor in edit mode, get some dark matter and make it the smallest size it will go (While not in grid mode) and hold x to make your floor. You will notice it is invisible. This could be useful for walls which you don't want to be seen and such.
To jump higher off a moving platform, wait until the platform has moved as high as possible before jumping. The momentum will throw you higher in the air.
You can also jump higher by jumping off the very edges of objects, provided the edge is sharp and does not curve.

In most levels there is a multiplayer prize area that requires two players to unlock the hidden items. Most of these areas can be easily completed if you have two controllers. Start the level in Single Player mode. Once you reach the multiplayer zone, stand near the closest checkpoint, and press the PS button. A second Sackboy will spawn from the checkpoint. Have him stand on the switch or hold something down while you collect the prizes, then hold the PS button on controller two until the option "Turn off controller" appears. Select it, and the second Sackboy will disappear after a few seconds. You can now finish the level in Single Player mode. You can use this trick to get 100% completion with one player.

If you glue objects together and then glue a bomb, then set it off, it will fall apart! (may take a couple attempts, if it works and is not moved, it will always work.)

You can beat the Boom Town's 2+ player Area by yourself using this exploit.
After noticing the area (roughly halfway through the map, past the rows of falling flaming logs, underneath the small 'town' that you blow up), ignore it, and continue on to the town. Blow up the first part of the town, but DO NOT blow up the second part with the button.
Instead, go down to the lowest level of the town, and push through the building that is supposed to blow up with the second button. You'll notice you're actually pushing all the explosives out. There should be two black triggers, and (I believe) 3 generic explosives boxes. Arrange all of these bombs fairly close together, but still covering the thin layer of ground in front of the building (notice the prize bubbles in it?)
The boxes should only be a bit less than a box length apart from eachother, roughly. This should cover most, if not all of, the area in front of the building.
Now, go back through the building where you looted the explosives, and trigger them with the button at the top. You'll notice that most (if not all) of the prize bubbles have fallen down.
Next, backtrack to the two player area. Ignore the carts, since you need two people to use them. You may notice some prize bubbles in the deathtrap pit. So you'll need to die to get them. Most of the bubbles, if not all, should be in the main cavern under the building they fell out of.
Just throw the switch to lower the ramp, and climb up to get all the prizes.
Congrats, you beat a 2 player area by your lonesome.
I figured out this cheat myself. At first I thought I was actually doing the area the right way, and ignored it the first time around (after I tested it to see if the way I did it was the right way. Assuming that I was supposed to finish it off with a second player). So I accidentally uncovered a glitch while trying to do (What I thought was) the right thing.
Go into the menu and get out the red candle that you receive from the wedding level and place it somewhere in your level. After you've placed your candle, place your cursor over the flame and press L3. This will allow you to move, copy and paste the flame anywhere on your level.

If you choose the beige sponge cotton, then turn it into a gas, save and then load your level, then unlethalize it, it will look like glass.
Put a sticker, any sticker on a piece of wood. Now, set the wood on fire. If you move a piece of glass in front of the wood, it will make the wood seem like normal wood with a sticker on it. In my LBP Glitch Gallery, I demonstrate this and other cool LBP glitches.

There is a two player challenge in the first level in the weddings theme that can easily be done by one player. When you fist meet the posh butler enemy with the head that goes up and down to reveal it's brain, kill it and continue to go straight right ignoring the skull that bounces you up to a higher level. You should then meet another butler enemy , kill it and continue right until you face a suspended skull with some sponge on it and a large pole with sponge hanging off it. Grab the first sponge on the pole until it comes down . When you let go, it will spring back up so really quickly let go and grab onto the next piece of sponge. repeat until you are at the last piece of hanging sponge. Now wait and the pole should slowly go upright enough for you to jump on and grab onto the sponge on the skull. When you grab the skull sponge it should go down to release some prize bubbles, you can then jump down to collect them!
Have you ever played a stage where you fall and you land on a death trap without dying? That was a barrier. To make a barrier, use rubber or dark matter, and shrink it to the smallest size it will go. Then smear it in a straight line, and you will have a forcefield! This only works if you smear the material in straight line, though.

To perform this glitch, make sure item in the level is glued together. Connect a brain to another object and connect that object to the level. Switch to play mode, step on that brain and the level will fall apart.
Make sure everything is glued together for this glitch to work.

You know that computer that you use to end any of your many famous levels? Well there's a small glitch in to the game. Put paper thin glass all over the front wall of your level, and then change the background to something interesting, other then white. Then put the computer in the back. When you do it the black part of the screen will become see through and show you whatever is behind it. It only works when theres glass in front of it. Kinda interesting. An example would be at the end of "1 of 4 The Legend of Sackboy: The Oceanside Village" By: me. For that is where I discovered this.
This is the new 2010 Neon Skeleton Glitch method.
1. Get a square block of wood and don't change the size.
2. Put it in the front layer and don't glue it.
3. Electrify it.
4. Make sure Sackboy is in Hover mode and go to pause mode.
5. Hover a little bit above the block and drop down.
6. Right before you hit it, un-pause and then undo.
If you did it right, you should have it.
For those of you too lazy to make a barrier, this cheat is the one for you!Take a drum out of your goodies bag, set it on fire. You can still walk on top of it, but you'll catch on fire if you touch the sides of the drum.

If you hold down L2 or R2 and push the analog stick right and than left fast you will smack any player standing near to you.
When in your pod, simply to don't press anything. That is including the analog sticks for about a minute or two and you will unlock a seceret video of sackboy running through out multiple area's.
