During any mission, hold select + start and then quickly press X, X, Circle, X, Left, Down, Square. This also unlocks a new weapon called the Marooner.
You can cheat out the ranks to get the benefits from each rank. To use the cheat, enter the code from the Title Screen, and start a new game to have some bonus items or effects:
