Beat Sonic 2
When Dr. Eggman jumps into the giga egg (what i call it) just wait for the crosshair, then run to the far right, when the fat guy tips a little, hit him! Run to the far left to avoid the hand shot. Do it 8 times and enjoy the ending <img src="http://i.neoseeker.com/d/icons/animesmile.gif" border=0 vspace=2 alt="" />!

Sonic 2
When facing the Eggman at the end of Sonic 2, (when he's in his giant robot) on Death Egg Zone; you'll have ZERO rings; which makes it near impossible to beat not only the firsy sonic with the moving hedges, but the Eggman as well!!
Just keep hitting him in the butt! Make sure you don't touch his flame though! And when facing the first steel sonic, hit him in the head but make sure that you don't hit his spine!

Debug Mode for Sonic 1 (Genesis)
At the title screen, press Up, Circle, Down, Circle, Left, Circle, Right, then hold Square and press Start. You should now be in Debug Mode, where you can actually turn into items and plant them anywhere within a level! You can even float straight to the end of each Act to get a whopping Time Bonus!
Keep in mind though, that your score and time will look all screwed up, as well as some objects.

Sonic & Knuckles
Level Select:
In mushroom Hill zone, hang on to a manual elevator, then do the following sequence: <-, <-, <-, ->, ->, ->, up, up, up. afterwards, return to the title screen, then press the START button while keeping Square held down.
++ However, to return to the title screen, pause the game then press square.
DO NOT USE THE 'R1 MENU' AND SELCT 'GAME TITLE'

Sonic 1 (for Genesis) Level Select
At the title screen, press Up, Down, Left, Right. You should hear a "ring" sound. Next, hold down the Square button and press Start. The Level Selection screen should now appear.
Sonic 3 Level Select
As soon as you see Sonic come out from the background on the title screen, quickly press Up, Up, Down, Down, and then press Up repeatedly until you hear a "ring" sound. If successful, there will be options available on the main menu, and from there you can access the Level Selection screen.
NOTE: Performing this code is extremely difficult to do, so have patience.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Cheats
Level Select Code: 19,65,09,17. Enter at the title screen of the sound test.
Debug Code: 1,9,9,2,1,1,2,4 Note: Works in level select.
All Chaos Emeralds: 4,1,2,6.
Unlockable Games
There are many "unlockable games" that you can uncover simply by playing certain games a certain amount of times. To unlock these games as fast as possible, simply play a game and immediately exit by pressing R1 and selecting "Exit". You will then return to the game selection screen. Repeat the process until the game of your choice is unlocked. Here are all the games that you can unlock:
Blue Sphere - Play Sonic 1 (for Genesis) and Sonic 3D Blast 20 times each.
Flicky - Play Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (for Genesis) 30 times.
Knuckles in Sonic 2 - Play Sonic 2 and Sonic Spinball 20 times each.
Sonic 3 and Knuckles - Play Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles 20 times each.
Ristar - Play Blue Sphere, Knuckles in Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, and Flicky 20 times each.
Comix Zone - Have a Sonic Heroes game save on your memory card, or play all games 50 times. (I'd prefer the game save method. Just go out and rent Sonic Heroes and make a save on your memory card).
The Ooze - Play Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (for Genesis) 20 times.
Unlocking Hints
To unlock Hints for a specific game, you'll need to play the game for 3 hours. Not all at once, but in total. Whenever you finish playing a game, always quit by pressing R1 and selecting "Exit", otherwise, your accumulated gameplay time will not add up.
In order to see your current gameplay time, simply save your data at any point during the game, then go to the Load screen.
