When you start a franchise, go to your roster, then go and edit any player with a high salary or a ending contract. Make them suck horribly. Then release them. Resign them immediately to a high year, low salary contract.

NOTE: This will take them out of the starting lineup. So after you resign them, add them back to the lineup.

They will have ridiculous contracts such as 9 year/ $98,000 a year, and when the season ends, all that saved money can go to free agency signings. watch your salary cap grow ridiculously!!
