Beating Battles
Save up all your power-ups hen use them all at once. A really good combo is difficulty up double notes and amp overload.
Beating the Battle
If you're in Battle Mode online, follow these tips.
If the enemy hits you with Lefty Flip or Amp Overload, look at their notes. Play them, they're the same as yours.
If you get stricken with Double Notes, simply use two fingers when you're doing those hard HOPO sequences.
If you get a Difficulty Up or Whammy, you'll just have to live with it until it passes.
Beating the final boss almost instantly
There is a way to make the final boss in Career mode drop almost instantly when you are battling him. If your first power-up is a whammy bar, use it after your solo and your opponent will go into a long string of notes very quickly. If you use your whammy power-up there, it will make your opponent fall into the red almost instantaneously.

Easier Way to Hit Fast Notes
Instead of moving the switch in the middle of the guitar just up, or just down, switch off between going up and down.
When the notes begin going faster in harder levels, it is much easier to complete the song.

Odd Glitch On Guitar Hero 3
Be Slash go on any song. Once you're on the song lose on purpose by strumming constantly. Now Slash should drop his Guitar Pause then unpause when he is stood still (To see him stood still go on widescreen)He should disappear from his spot and immedialtely appear further forward holding his guitar Note:- This works with other characters.
Quicker whammy waves
When you have a long note you can use both analoge sticks and move them fast instead of the right analoge stick.
And when its a star power long note, the faster you move the whammy the more star power you get.

STAY IN THE GAME IF YOU'RE IN THE RED!
Its a tip not a cheat:
As soon as you start playing try and hit the notes shaped as stars so you will get a lot of star power.
save the star power till you get in the red.
If you are getting in the red and are going to get booed off the quickley tilt your guitar and the star power will stop you from getting chucked of!

Through the Fire and flames
Through the fire and flames is a very difficult song to play on expert or on any level really. If your struggling with the song, heres what to do. Go to practice mode and select through the fire and flames on expert. Play it extremely slow. Once you practice this for a while, change the speed until you get it down. You will learn that this song has a pattern and it's easier to play.

TTFAF is the hardest song on the game.Its easy once you get use to it though.It takes a while so keep practicing as much as can.Try it on hyperspeed so you can think its slow when you play it on normal speed.I did this and now i am playing through it easily on expert.

Stay in the game for a short time
The last time I tested this was on easy, but I don't know if it works on the other difficulties, but anyways, around the beginning of the song u play, keep struming the strum bar and ur rock meter should go down, but it SHOULD (or it may not) Stop in the middle of red, if it works, it won't last the whole song
Tiki Mask Guitar
All you have to do to get this guitar is to complete story mode on easy.
The good thing is it only costs $2000.
