Unlock All Characters
From the Title screen enter in the following code to unlock all of the characters.

North American Release: SQUARE, R1, SQUARE, R2, SQUARE, R2, SQUARE, R1
Japanese version: SQUARE, SQUARE, L1, L2, R1, R2, SQUARE, SQUARE.

Unlock All 19 hidden Generals
American version: Square, R1, R2, R2, R1, Square Japanese version: Square, Square, L1, L2, R2, R1, Square, Square.

Free Mode side selection
At the Title screen, hold down triangle and press R1,L1,L2,R2,R1,L1,L2,R2.

Unlock All Shu Generals
Each of the Shu generals is unlocked by successfully completing the game in musou mode using different characters. You can unlock ALL of the Shu generals (Ma Chao, Jiang Wei, Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, and Huang Zhong.) by entering this cheat code from the Title screen:

North American Release: SQUARE (x2), R1 (x2), SQUARE (x2), R2 (x2).
Japanese Version: SQUARE, R1, R1, R1, R1, R1, R2, R2.

All Wei generals
From the Title screen enter in the following code to unlock all of Wei Generals (Cao Cao, Xiahou Yuan, Zhang Liao, and Sima Yi):

North American Release: SQUARE (x4), R2 (x2), R1 (x2).
Japanese Version: SQUARE, SQUARE, SQUARE, L1, L1, L2, L2, L2.

All Wu generals
From the Title screen enter in the following code to unlock all of Wu Generals (Taishi Ci, Sun Jian, Sun Quan, Lu Meng, and Gan Ning):

North American Release: SQUARE (x2), R2 (x2), R1 (x2), SQUARE (x2).
Japanese Version: SQUARE, SQUARE, L2, L2, L2, L2, L1, L1.

Open The Edit Mode
Dynasty Warriors 2 has a cool Edit mode that let's you make Full Motion Video (FMV) sequences using characters from the game!! You can unlock this with a cheat code. From the Title screen, enter the following code to unlock the Edit Mode.

North American Release: R2 (x3), L2 (x3), R1, L1.
Japanese Version: L1, L2, R2, R1, L1, L2, R2, R1.

In the English release, you must complete Musou mode with all characters except Dong Zhuo, Diao Chan, Lu Bu, Yuan Shao, and Zhang Jiao to unlock edit mode(you'll find it in the options menu).

Open the Background Music Test Option
From the Title screen enter the following code to open the Background Music (BGM) Test option in the options menu.

North American Release: L1 (x3), R1 (x3), L2, R2.
Japanese Version: R1, R1, R2, R2, L1, L1, L2, L2.

Alternate introduction sequence
Complete Musou mode with any character to unlock an alternate intro sequence.
