Formation
It may sometimes be a good idea to put your healer (probably Argilla) first, so she will always be able to heal if needed. If she was last and one of your first two characters miss when attacking (for example), then Argilla wouldn't get a turn, and wouldn't be able to heal.

Mantra Advice
It is wise to have your characters learn the Mantra that they are weak against, rather than the default one which they are strong against. Doing this will eventually lead to them learning a skill which will nullify their weakness (for example Serph learning the Fire Mantra would eventually earn him a passive resistance against Fire, thus leaving him with no weaknesses).

New Game Cycle
New Game Plus is known as New Game Cycle in Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 1. All you have to do to unlock this feature is completing the game.

In the New Game Cycle, you enjoy the benefits as followed...

1. Human form skill - all your characters will come with this new skill under the Auto Skill section. Equipping this skill will allow you to start battle in human form instead of Demon form. It is benefitual to equip at least one character with this human skill so that you do not need to revert from demon form to human form when you want to shoot/kill Omikane.

2. Start with all skills gain from mantra you learned from your previous game cycle.

3. All combo/ linkage skills you discovered from previous game cycle are shown and available for use.

4. You get to fight a hidden ultimate boss known as Hoshitura.

The only bad side of New Game Cycle is all experience, items, and makka gained on previous game cycle will be erased.

Selling Cells
You actually receive different amounts of Macca when you sell your cells. This is dependant on the stage of the Sun. If it is at MAX, then you will receive the most Macca.

The exception to this rule is with Jack cells. Here, you get most Macca from having the sun stage at MIN.

Skipping Turns
Don't be scared to Pass your turn to another character. Skipping a turn only uses half a turn up. If you have two heavy attackers and one weaker character, then you should pass the weaker characters turn so that the stronger character can attack instead.

Status Recovery
When the Solar Noise level reaches MIN, your party will be automatically cured of any status abnormalities.

Weak Enemy Indication
You can tell if your opponent is nearly dead by the colour of the damage numbers. If it's red (rather than white), then the enemy will be close to dead.
