You can bypass the ten minute game limit in all tournaments by outputting the PlayStation2 video signal into a VCR and recording the game. Pause the game and rewind the tape to the latest move. This gives you a chance to study the board for as long as you need instead of thinking quickly and rushing your move.

During online play you may switch chess boards. Press Select and go to Preferences then select Board after that scroll to find twelve additional chess boards. Once you have selected your board preference you can only save the data when you go back out to the main menu.
