Mei Ling: 140.96

Nastassia Romanenko: 141.52 (Nuclear specialist. Provides healthy information on using weapons)

Master Miller: 141.80 (Provides psychological information and advice. Reveals information on Naomi at the end of the game)

Pantless Meryl
Look in a vent just before reaching the DARPA chief to see Meryl doing sit-ups. Leave the vent and re-enter and she will be doing one-armed pushups. Repeat and she will be doing leg stretches on the wall. Repeat one more time and she will be doing the leg stretches while pantless.

Later in the game when you find Meryl (disguised as a guard) on patrol in the office, she runs to the women's bathroom. Follow Meryl into the Women's bathroom and reach the last stall in under five seconds. Meryl will be caught with her pants Down during an FMV sequence.

Metal Gear Solid Tips

Bandana
If you beat the game and go with Meryl, she will give you a prototype of an item called "Bandana." This gives you infinite bullets with any weapon you hav equipped. This appears in your inventory when you start your second game.

Blushing Meryl
Use the First Person View (triangle button) to look at Meryl (best in the room before you battle Psycho Mantis). If you do this for a while, she'll start blushing and giggling, saying things like "Snake, sto~p".

The longer you look at Meryl, the more she will blush.

Box Travel
A lot of people think boxes are used for only hiding...but they have more uses than you think. They can be used to get to the Heliport, the Nuclear Warhead Storage building, and the Snowfield. Simply get inside a truck in one of the three areas listed above, and sooner or later, a guard should come walking by, and notice the box. He will read out the destination (for example: 'To the Heliport, eh?') and then hop in the truck and take you there.

A box can do a lot, can't it?

Defeating Psycho Mantis
This is pretty easy, depending on what you're used to.

If you used to using the mouse, then you'll have trouble using this cheat. If you are used to using the keyboard, then this'll be very easy for you.

OK, first of all, in order to beat Psycho Mantis, you have to beat him using your keyboard rather than the mouse. Another option is to shoot the statues to distract Psycho Mantis. This way, you can defeat him with the mouse or the keyboard if you want to.

Just make sure to dodge the things he throws at you. Also, when he tries to use Meryl to kill you, keep throwing her rather than shooting her. Don't try to snap her neck, either, as it snaps easily.

When he uses his Stealth Camouflage, equip the Thermal Goggles. If you don't have them, then you will have to rely on your eyes. You can faintly see him, even if he has his Stealth Camouflage on.

Defeating Sniper Wolf (2nd time) - The Easy Way
This is very helpful on extreme.

When you get into the snowfield, make your way to the right as far as you can until the cinematic starts.

As soon as the battle starts, immediately equip your Nikita. Fire it, and guide the remote-controlled missile to Sniper Wolf to do her some damage. Keep doing this, and you will defeat her quite easily.

Easier Psycho Mantis
If you want to defeat Psycho Mantis all you have to do is to shoot the statues. Trust me it worked for me.

Excercising Meryl
When looking into Meryl's cell from the ventilation duct, you'll see her doing sit-ups. Exit the duct via the ladder you entered with, and re-enter to find her doing one-armed pushups. Repeat the process to see her doing some stretches, then sit-ups in her underwear, pushups in her underwear, and stretches in her underwear. From there it just repeats.

Frustrated Mei Ling
Continuously call Mei Ling without saving. After about 8 times, she'll stop talking to you temporarily and simply stick her tongue out. However, you can still save, strangely enough.

Johnny Sasaki Glitch
After the DARPA chief dies, and you've survived the soldier attack with your partner (Meryl), you should see a man with only underpants on. However, in the PSX version of the game, the guard (Johnny Sasaki) is wearing nothing, just sitting there, naked on the floor (it's blurred so don't worry ).

Kill Baker
This may seem a little weird, but you can actually kill Baker without engaging in the Ocelot boss battle. Simply aim from outside the exploded wall, and fire. Keep firing until he is dead.

You will come to a Game Over screen...

Open Elevator Quickly
Press an elevator (any elevator) once, and wait for the elevator to arrive. Instead of waiting, you can alternatively press the O button twice, and the elevator should open immediately.

This is handy when guards are nearby, and are heading your way.

PSG-1 Trembling Glitch
You can reduce the trembling when aiming the PSG-1 by equipping the Cigarettes. Very helpful when you run out of Diazepam.

Red Ninja
Beat the game twice and get both endings (one with Meryl and one without). When you play a third time, the ninja will be wearing a cool red and black outfit.

Scare Hal Emmerich
During the fight with Cyborg Ninja, lean against the locker in which Hal is hiding and knock against it. Hal will let out a funny little whining sound.

See Through Psycho Mantis' Eyes
To see through Psycho Mantis' eyes, hold down the First-Person-View button. This is good for determining where he is located for defeating him. Also, when you are looking through his eyes, it should appear a little 'greenish' as Psycho Mantis is wearing a mask.

Stealth Suit
If you went with Otacon at the end of the game, he will give you a prototype of an item called "Stealth." This allows you to walk near, through, and around guards, through trip lasers, and in the field of vision of cameras without alerting. This appears in your inventory when you start your second game.

This, however, does not work against bosses. They seem to be able to see you.
