link directly to this cheatHospitaller Knights

Do not accept a guilds into your castles/cities.

Crusade against a specific city, the capture it.

not long after, the St John's Guild will be offered to you.

Accept, and you now gain access to the Hospitaller Knights Guild, the St John Guild.

Advantages to getting them - they are more disciplined over Knight Templars.

Disadvantages, despite having equal statistics as Templars, they do not have the power of French and German knights.

To get them easier, accept as many Crusades as possible, and do not accept any other guilds prior to getting them.

Credit for this goes to catfish413, which after I tried it, with a bit of tampering, proved it to work.

link directly to this cheat6 Month Turns instead of 2 Year Turns

To change the ratio of Turns to actual time from 1 Turn = 2 Years to 1 Turn = 6 Months follow these steps:

1.go to your medieval 2:total war folder,then data,world,maps,campaign,imperial_campaign
2.copy the file desc_strat to your desktop
3.make sure it is not read-only
4. open it using notepad
4.go down where it says "start_date" there look for timescale
5 change 2.5 (ithink) to 0.50
6. save the file
7. cut the file in your desktop and paste it in "imperial_campaign" folder (make sure you replace it, dont make a second copy)
8. start the game and begin your very long campaign

This ensures youll never run out of time if you are a slow player like me who enjoys consolidating after each conquest.

And don't worry about events as they change to fit into the new time frame. This means it takes a while for gunpowder to be discovered...but hey, you have to make sacrafices!

link directly to this cheatbillion florins at start of grand campaign!!!

I know there is a cheat: add_money 40000, its a good cheat but there is an easier way. Go to programfiles/SEGA/data/world/imperialcampaign/descr_strats, then find the faction you want to play then look for their starting florins then change it to 9999999999, if you want to be really brutal you can change your enemies starting money low.

Have Fun every one!!!!

In the grand campaign of medieval 2 total war you have to wait till gun powder can be discovered. To make gunpowder be discoverd easily, go to programfiles/SEGA/data/world/imperialcampaign/descr_events then look for the gun powder event then change the disvovery date from 164 to 1, there are more than 2 events about gun powder there so make sure to change every gun powder event to 1.

link directly to this cheatGetting Special/Unique Retinue Items

To get unique and very cool items for your generals' retinues you need to perform historically important acts. Eg. As a western faction you can send a general on Crusade and when they conquer the target city they will receieve a special item such as the Holy Grail, or Mary's Veil.

These special items add great bonuses to your generals' stats and abilities so they are well worth going out to get.

link directly to this cheatNew factions

To get a new faction in the game, you must encounter that faction, and interact with them. By interaction, you must either;

a) - Attack them.
b) - They attack you.
c) - Trade with them.
d) - You send an envoy to them.
e) - You send an assassin to them.
f) - You try to convert them to your religion (you send in a priest).

Alternatively, if you take over someone's lands, and they have had dealings with previous un-encountered enemies, I've heard that actually unlocks new factions as well.
