Early on in the game, someone mentions a magic spell "TCELES B HSUP". If you read it backwards, it translates as "PUSH B SELECT". When in the outer world and not in a battle, press and hold B & Select simultaneously and this will call up a map of the entire outer world with key locations and your present location highlighted.
