Unlock all Puzzle University selections
At the Title Screen, hold Z and press A, B, R, A (x2), B, R, A.

High speed marathon mode
At the Title Screen, hold Z and press B, A, L (x2) to be able set the starting speed in marathon mode to a maximum of 99. You can also unlock this mode by scoring at least ten thousand points in the time zone.

Bonus trainers
At the trainer selection screen, hold L + R + Z on controller one and two to unlock the trainers marked by a "?". You can also unlock this by completing the Spa Service game.

V-Hard difficulty setting
At the Difficulty Selection Screen, hold Z and press L (x2), A, B to unlock the V-Hard difficulty setting. You can also unlock this by completing the game on the Hard difficulty setting.

S-Hard difficulty setting
At the Difficulty Selection Screen, hold Z and press R, L, A, B to unlock the S-Hard difficulty setting. You can also unlock this by completing the game on the V-Hard difficulty setting.

Taunt opponent
Select any two player game mode. Have one player select a character, then repeatedly press A.

Mewtwo's stage
At the trainer selection screen, hold Z and press B, Up, L, B, A, Start, A, Up, R to start the game in Mewtwo's stage. Player one will be Ash, player two will be Mewtwo. You can also unlock this by completing the game on the S-Hard difficulty setting.

A Little Something That Helped Me With The Game

Around the point where you get to Hard Mode in the game (or anywhere you get stuck at) you can get swamped by your opponents' layer blocks. But Layer Blocks arew the easiest way to help you get x2, x3, and etc depending on how well this works. Say you break open the layer block, and you can see a leaf tile in there about to drop. So very quickly, move two green tiles under it. Try to do this as many times as possible for more points. And Layer Blocks of your own.

Continuous Combos
For continuous combos with this trick, your opponents layer block will have to be at least two layers. When you get the first combo from when the blocks drop, make sure that there are no blocks above that one. (Not including the layer block) when they fall, and you get the x2, the layer block will have fallen right on top of that combo, and the layer block will open again. Set up the tiles underneath it. And there's your times three. If the layer block is really big, you will get a lot of combos. I've gotten a x9 before by using this method. Good luck with it.

custom 3-D puzzle mode

At the puzzle selection at regular puzzle mode, press Z,Z,UP,DOWN,UP,Z,Z,LEFT,RIGHT,LEFT,A(25X), Z(13X),B(45X),UP(21X),Z,L,R,R,R,L.You will hear Jolteon's voice when doing a 4x chain.Go back to mode select.Select Puzzle University and one of the mini modes will say Custom 3-D Mode.

FAQ for Pokemon Puzzle League

Ok, first you have several different pieces to start with. You have various ones such as diamonds and hearts. The thing is though that it is a lot like Tetris, but Pokemon style. You have the line up the blocks in rows of three horizontaly or verticaly. This will get rid of the blocks, which is what you want to do. Then you can put what is called a "layer block" on your opponent by getting rid of four or more at a time. This size will vary by how many blocks you get rid of. The more, the bigger. Another thing is when you get one on you, you want to break apart some blocks right beneath it to break it apart and get rid of it, creating more blocks for you to use. If you already have gaps in your block area when this happens, you can let them fall on block stacked on twos already and get layer blocks on your opponents side of the board. If they are stacked up with blocks, or if you are, to the top, then that person will lose. It does not matter which person you pick from the select screen, but just pick your favorite. You will keep playing until all three or your Pokemon have been fainted. This is when you will lose for good until the next time you play. Reseting Puzzle University Play Time

At the "Puzzle Village" map screen, select the "Puzzle University" icon and select "Custom Puzzle". Now, go and select your personal file and select any of the custom puzzles you've made. Select "Play" and beat it. Return back to the "Puzzle Village" map screen, and once again, select "Puzzle University", select the original puzzle mode, go to the same personal file you selected for the custom puzzle and pick any class from 1 to 3 and choose any puzzle. When you check your puzzle play time it should be restarted by saying time: 00, 00 (or something like that).

***For this secret to work, you must have created a puzzle that is beatable***

Unlock Mewtwo Stage

To access the secret Mewtwo stage in Two-Player battle, go to the Select Trainer screen in 2-P Stadium. Now, hold the Z button, and press B, Up, L, B, A, Start, A, Up, R. You'll automatically be transported to Mewtwo's stage. Player one will always be Ash Ketchum and player two will be Mewtwo
