In order to knock the ladders down faster use Legolas and/or Elegost to cut it down to half/quarter HP left in it... after that it's open for anyone else to finish off
Play this as often as you can! Especially in the Pelennor Fields, where you get the greatest Elfstones in the game. Your character's health will go up by almost 1500 HP with one of those.
There is an easy way to get about 90,000 experience in one battle. First you need to go to the level after you leave Moria then when you are at the start of the level (you should be next to a river and to the right of you should be big statues), and to the left of a save point. In that area a non-stop response of battles happen including 4 orc veterans, 4 urikhi and every 6 battles you face 3 ring raiths. You will collect 190,090 experience points for a victory.
In the throne room, in Minas Tirith, use Hadhod as your lead character and get three to four random encounters. After you beat the last one you should receive the Mithril Hauberk.
