Gift Pokemons
There are a variety of points within the game where you are given a Pokémon. These Pokémon for the most part take your ID and Number but are yours to keep. You need to have a space in your party in order to receive these Pokémon.
| Unlockable | How to unlock |
| Pansage/sear/pour | Enter The Dreamyard, you will find a lady who will gladly give you one of the apes. The Pokémon that you receive is, however, not up to you. Instead, you get the Pokémon of the type that is weak against your starter. If you chose Snivy, you'll get Panpour. If you chose Tepig, you'd get Pansage and if you chose Oshawott, you'd get Pansear. They are at Level 10. |
| Zorua | To get Zorua, you will need to have first transferred Celebi over to Black & White using the Relocator Machine unlocked in Castelia City. Once done, take Celebi to one of the buildings in Castelia City where you'll see a girl with another girl who is apparently lost. Celebi will come out from its Pokéball and the lost girl will shed her illusion and turn out to be Zorua. Zorua will be offered to join you. However, you do need a Pokéball as one will be used up when you obtain it. It can be any ball. |
| Tirtouga | Found in Relic Castle, receive from backpack guy, called "Cover Fossil". Bring to Nacrene City's museum and speak to one of the clerks at the entrance |
| Archen | Found in Relic Castle, receive from backpack guy, called "Plume Fossil". Bring to Nacrene City's museum and speak to one of the clerks at the entrance |
| Larvesta | Found at Route 18. When you enter this house, talk to the guy in the red suit and hat. He will offer to give you a Pokémon Egg. If you accept and hatch the egg, you'll discover that it's a Larvesta. |
| Magikarp | On the Marvelous Bridge, you will find a man who will sell you a rare Pokémon for 500 PokéDollars. Unlike in Red & Blue however, the Pokémon he sells you is rare and can't be obtained anywhere else in Unova |
Ingame Trades
Several NPCs in the game will trade with you if you have a specific Pokemon they are after.
| Pokemon you will receive | Pokemon required and location of NPC |
| Petilil | Trade a Cottonee with a girl in Nacrene City. |
| Munchlax | During the months of the summer season, if you travel to Undella Town you can trade a Cinccino with a man for this. |
| Rotom | Trade a Ditto with a woman on Route 15. |
| Emolga | Trade a Boldore to a Hiker in a house on Route 7 |
| Basculin | Trade a Minccino (commonly found in Route 7) to a boy in Driftveil City. |
Interactable Pokemon
Throughout the game, you'll be able to interact with many Pokemon. While these are not Legendary Pokemon, this is the main way of obtaining these Pokemon.
| Unlockable | How to unlock |
| Darmanitan | When you are in the Resort Desert area, there will be statues that you notice scattered around the area. When you come near the entrance to Ancient Castle, Professor Juniper will then tell you that these Darmanitan have a special ability known as Daruma Mode. A RageCandyBar is needed to awaken them so you can battle them. They are all at level 35 and have no special moves. |
| Foongus | Around Route 6 and Route 10, these Pokemon will be disguised as Poke Balls (which represent items in the overworld) much like Voltorb and Electrode are in certain areas in previous games. In Route 6, they're at level 20, while they're at level 30 on Route 10. |
| Amoonguss | Much like Foongus, these are disguised as Poke Balls though these are only found in the darker grass in Route 10. These are at level 40 when you find them. |
| Musharna | This is found in the basement of the Dreamyard after beating the Elite 4. It can only be found on Fridays and it will be found at level 50. It has the special ability, Telepathy. |
| Zorua | You must have an event Celebi that has been traded to your game via the relocator in Castelia City to unlock Zorua. Once Celebi is in your party you need to find a pair of NPCs in a building along the right-most street. Speak to the boy and he will turn into Zorua and join your party. Note that you must have an empty slot in your party and at least one pokeball (type does not matter). Zorua will be level 10. |
| Zoroark | You must have an event Raikou, Entei, or Suicune that has been traded to your game via the relocator in Castelia City to unlock Zoroark. Once you've traded one of the Legendary Dogs and have it in the active party, you need to go to the Lostlorn Forest (head east out of Nimbasa City) where you can battle Zoroark. It will be using its Illusion ability to show itself as one of the dogs you didn't bring. It's at level 25 and has no special moves. |
| Volcarona | Volcarona is located in a part of the Ancient Castle that is unlocked after you get the National Dex. The makeup of the new area is very similar to that of Turnback Cave from Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. It is at level 70 once you find it so be prepared for a tough battle. |

| Virizion | First encounter Cobalion, then go to Pinwheel Forest. |
| Tornadus | Head to Route 7 after beating Drayden and you'll be greeted with a elderly lady who will tell you the story of Tornadus. Once you leave her house you will then see Tornadus fly past. After that encounter head to the nearest news ticker, any one will tell you there is a violent storm in a certain route, head for that route and there you will find Tornadus. |
| Landorus | Once you have both Tornadus and Thundurus head to Abundant Shrine. |
| Reshiram | Originally found in N's Castle after defeating the Elite 4. If there is no room in your party or PC boxes, it will reappear at Dragon Spiral Tower if you can't catch it. You must catch it if there is room in your party. It will be at level 50. |
| Kyurem | Found in Giant Chasm north of Route 13 after defeating the Elite 4. It is at level 75. |
| Victini | Get the Liberty ticket over WiFi Mystery Gift and take the ship in Castelia city to Liberty Island. Defeat Team Plasma and capture Victini in the basement of the Light House. It is Level 15 and has no Gender. |

Evolving Pansage, Panpour and Pansear
These three need the Leaf, Fire or Water stone in order to evolve. You can obtain one of these stones from a man on the pier to the south of the city entrance in Castelia City.
(Their Japanese names are Yanappu, Baoppu and Hiyappu)
Fast Way to Level Up Pokemon
Here's a fast and easy way to level up your pokemons without battling them!
Requirement:
- Unlocked the ability to leave TWO pokemons at the DayCare Centre
Steps:
1. Leave 1 or 2 pokemons at the DayCare Centre (Found outside of Striaton city)
2. Get to Nimbasa city.
3. Go to the "Battle Subway" in Nimbasa and use something to hold down B and the down button. (Or you can hold them down yourself)
Because it's a constant loop, you can walk away for a few hours or just hold it, and the daycare trains your pokemons as you run around in circles!
WARNING:
- Be careful though, if you let it run for too long you may have a level 100 that you never evolved
- Also, pokemons left at DayCare will learn the level up moves as they level up, meaning you won't be able to choose the moves it learns if you leave it there too long
fishing
You can fish in the whirlpools and rare pokemon will come out.
Fresh Water vs. Super Potion
Need some Super Potions but low on Poke? Well find a Vending Machine and buy Fresh Water instead. You can only get one at a time, but you are saving 500 Poke by buying Fresh Water instead of Super Potions as they both heal 50 HP.
Side Note:
The guy at the entrance of each gym that tells you what type of Pokemon the Leader uses, will also give you a Fresh Water as a gift.

How to catch Thundurus and Tornadus without a Master Ball
NOTE: Tornadus is only found in Pokemon Black Version and Thundurus is only found in Pokemon White Version.
Another Note: Before you start you must have started the event on Route 7 after beating the Opelucid City Gym.
Step 1: Before you battle him, make sure you have:
a) A fast Pokemon with Thunder Wave or Stun Spore
b) A fast and strong Pokemon that lower his HP safely or a Pokemon with False Swipe
c) A fast Pokemon with Mean Look, Block, Spider Web or the Ability of Shadow Tag
d) Whichever Poke Balls you use. I tend to use ordinary Poke Balls
e) Some Healing Items just in case
Step 2: After you start the event, you should wait for it to be evening (the evening time depends on the season). When it's evening head over to Mistralton City and go north to Route 7. If your legendary Pokemon is here, the sky would become noticeably oranger than usual, then an unusual storm would show up. If he is not there, go back to Mistralton City and try to head up there again. Keep repeating this until you actually battle with him.
Step 3: Here is your battle plan:
a) So when you first encounter your Pokemon use your Thunder Wave or Stun Spore and let him flee
b) Do step 2 again but this time weaken him until you feel he is ready for capture
c) Do step 2 one more but have a Pokemon use Block/Mean Look so he cannot flee
d) Throw all your Poke Balls at him and use your Potions if your Mean Looker is about to faint

Pointless Places...
...are no longer pointless. If you have the event exclusive Keldeo or Meloetta, then you can teach them special moves like SecretSword and RelicSong, their signature moves. The Moor of Icirrus, along with the battalion trio, you can teach Keldeo SecretSword. With a Relic Crown go to the cafe in Narrow street, Castelia and the guitarist will teach Meloetta RelicSong.

Sky Drop Glitch
While the user of Sky Drop and the targeted Pokémon are in the air, if another Pokémon uses the move Gravity, the move fails. Sky Drop's user will be able to continue to battle as normal, but the Pokémon targeted by Sky Drop won't be able to move until the user of Sky Drop either faints or gets switched out, or the targeted Pokémon takes a hit from an attack.
Sky Drop was banned from random Wi-Fi battles as a result of this glitch.

Diamond Dust
On rare occasions, when visiting Icirrus City, instead of seeing the snow falling like normal, you will instead see a different kind of weather condition, similar to snow called Diamond Dust. This weather condition is very rare and can only be found specifically in Icirrus City on New Years' Eve.
Diamond Dust also makes appearances on the top of Mt. Silver in HG/SS and in Snowpoint City in D/P/Pt.

Foreign Team Rocket Grunt
During the Winter, if you go to Icirrus City, and enter the southernmost house, there will be a man standing in front of the TV. If you talk to him, he will reveal himself to be an ex-Team Rocket member in a very odd dialect. He claims that he was once part of Team Rocket in a faraway region, and that he tried to revive Team Rocket. This was the same Grunt as the one that stole the Gear from the Generator in G/S/C/HG/SS.

Translations
In Castelia city there are 3 trainers at a party that speak 3 foreign languages. I've translated what they say.
German: Ich habe mir nun ein Auto zugelegt! Damit ist die nächeste Stadt auch ganz ohne Orden zum Greifen nah! Es sei denn, ich rassele durch meine Führerscheinprüfung...
English: I have now bought a car! So that the next town is also close enough to touch without orders! Except, I rattling through my driving test...
Italian: Ciao! Ti stai divertendo? Non sentirti in imbarazzo. Parla pure con chi vuoi.
English: Hello! Are you having fun? Do not feel embarrassed. He also speaks with anyone.
Spanish: ¡Es la primera ves que vengo aquí!¡Pero este precioso paisaje hace que me sienta como en casa!¡La próxima vez traeré a mis amigos!
English: It is the first time I come here! But this beautiful landscape makes me feel like home! The next time I'll bring my friends!
Visiting Game Freak
In Castelia City, there is a building in which you can find various NPCs representing actual Game Freak members. One of these characters can be challenged to a battle after defeating the Elite Four. This building also houses various goodies and commendations for doing things like completing the Pokedex. To get there, all you need to do is get to the Castelia Pokemon Center. In the roadway leading north (up) just to the east (right) of the center, there is a single building on the right that you can enter. Go inside, and go to the elevator. Go to the 22nd floor, and you will encounter Game Freak!
