Catching the Legendary Bird Pokemon

After defeating the Kalos region's Elite 4, you will have a chance to encounter one of the three legendary birds from Pokemon Red and Blue throughout Kalos. Which bird will appear is based on the Pokemon you chose at the beginning of the game.

The legendary bird should appear in your Coastal Kalos Pokedex afterward, allowing you to track its location. Walk (don't fly) to the bird's location to challenge it again; it should flee. Repeat a few more times, after which the Pokemon should retreat to Sea Spirit's Den. There you will at last be able to catch it!

Optimum breeding efficiency

Make sure you put a Pokemon with the ability of Flame Body or Magma Armor in the first slot of your party. Collect 5 eggs from the Day-care Man.and hop onto your bicycle. When you're ready, use the Hatching O-power (Lv.3 advised) and ride in a straight line, avoiding riding into anything that will waste a second of the three-minute limit of the O-power. When an egg is hatching, the O-power time will still be ticking. To avoid any unnecessary wastage, avoid nicknaming your Pokemon once it has hatched and resume riding.

If you do it correctly, four or sometimes even five of your eggs will hatch before the O-power runs out. Of course if you are breeding Dragon-types, the process will be much slower.

From here, you can either rinse (place the five hatchlings in a PC Box) and repeat the process or go to the IV Judge in Kiloude City's Pokemon Center (if you are breeding for IVs) and get the five's IVs checked. This will allow a little time for the O-powers to recharge.

Pokemon amie

Having trouble with a specific boss or gym leader? not to worry bevcause pokemon amie can buff up your pokemon so much in a hour it feels like cheating! all you do is play the mini games with your selected pokemon and earn pokepuffs, then feed those pokepuffs to the pokemon you want to have god-like power. however the pokemon does get full from the puffs quickly, so just play a couple more mini games with it and it will be hungry again. you can also pet it after every two mini games for some bonus <3s, the benefits of pokemon amie stop once your selected pokemon reaches the fifth level of affection.
benefits include:
Much more critical hits
A lot more dodges
status conditions being randomly removed
Bonus xp
Some conversations between trainer and pokemon in battle

Pokemon X & Y save glitch fixes

If you found out the hard way about how saving your game just outside of a building in Lumiose City would "freeze" your save and prevent it from loading, fortunately there is a fix. Simply remove your SD card (with your save file) from the 3DS, then load up Pokemon again. Now you can re-insert your SD card and load your now unfrozen file.

Another way is to keep the SD card in your 3DS as normal, but keep hitting the Home button on the handheld while you load up your Pokemon X or Y file; start mashing the button as soon as you hear the in-game music start playing, while the screen is still black!

A Note to Future Sycamore

A young Professor Sycamore wrote a note to his future self, and left it in Couriway Town. It can be found and read by examining the left side of the right bench in the station there.

"To the person reading this:
What are you like now?
Did you become who you wanted to be?
For starters, what was the person you wanted to become even like?
I don't know, but it would be wonderful if you can boast that you're living each day to its fullest.
To future Sycamore.
From the Sycamore dreaming of the future."

In-Battle Affection

We all know the Pokémon-Amie allows you to give your teammates more TLC than previous generations, and maxing out your Pokémon's affection towards you gives you plenty of in-battle bonuses (A chance to endure attacks with 1hp, a chance to shrug off status problems, boosted experience, a chance to dodge attacks, and an increased chance of a critical hit.) There's one more bonus that doesn't have any affect in battle but is still cute: When you send out a Pokémon with max affection and it KO's the opponent, run the stylus back and forth on the touch screen. This allows you to pet your Pokémon after the opponent's KO'd as if to say "Great Job". It doesn't seem to have any additional effects, but it definitely adds to the caring potential of the game.

Jubilife City Theme

A woman in Snowbelle City states, "Standing here reminds me of a cold region far away. Will you listen to the first song I composed there?" Answering yes will play a slowed-down version of the theme of Jubilife City, from the Sinnoh region of Pokemon: Diamond & Pearl, which slowly picks up in tempo.
Verified by: ktinkerbell Submitted by: dilute on December 07, 2013

Lumiose City Ghost

On the second floor of the building to the right of the Galette stand in Luminose City, immediately after entering the floor, the lights will flicker on and off and a Hex Maniac will appear behind the player, who will then float (as she seems to lack any kind of walk animation) off screen and say, "No, you're not the one..." before disappearing.

In the first room on the right on the fourth floor of the Hotel Richissime, she will be there as well. When talking to her, she will say, "Don't talk to me... if you do, I can't hear the elevator..."

There has yet to be any explanation as to who this character is.

Unwavering Emotion

In Coumarine City there is an Ace Trainer in a house that will play a song he calls "Got to go get it to get it" then he will ask if you want to listen to it. This is actually a remastered version of "Unwavering Emotion", a song from Pokemon Black and White's soundtrack.
