True Crime: Streets Of L.A.

THE BAD:
Full of bugs!!

SUMMARY:
The worse thing that anyone can do is try to compare this to the GTA series. It is anything but that! You are a rogue cop who can choose to be good or corrupt. Your main objective is to drive to mission points and conquer the challenge. You are given the option to do the street cop thing and solve street crimes. I found those a little distracting but necessary to gain shields so I could spend them on upgrades (gun, fighting, and vehicle). The bad points are that this game is full of bugs-- I noticed my car started to drive off on its own! The good points are that this game sorta reminds me of the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books. You can choose to keep going if you fail a mission, or go back and replay it.

SUMMARY:
I decided to get this game as most of the reviews I've seen for it have been good, and also people I know liked it...I was very dissapointed though.

When I first started playing the game I was very pleased with it, it seemed like GTA except a little more realistic. This didn't last too long though.

The City is huge, maybe too big, but there really isn't much going on and there doesn't seem to be much need to get to know where streets go unlike in the GTA games.

Now the actualy storyline is decent and it's good that missions change depending on you completing them or not...it's a shame they only take about 5 hours to complete.

After doing the mission there isn't much left to do so I decided to return the game. This game is always going to get compared to GTA, and GTA is one hell of a game and it's unlikely something else will compare with it, perhaps...

THE BAD:
BugsBugsBugsBugs...and the city is so big but you can't have fun on it like gta. Why do almost all the citizens have guns on them?!?!Some weird things in the levels.Car damage isn't all that impressive.

SUMMARY:
Well, i have to say i thought this game was going to be fun,and a certain Grand Theft Auto killer.Well,i was wrong. I was impressed with the size of LA, but it gets very boring when your trying to mess around like on gta,becuase you run out of things to do.But on the plus side being able to arrest, and check people for guns is really cool.But the car damage takes a little while to kick in. But i have to say tht the shooting was really fun. But,i have to say give it a rent first,and see how you like it, but i didn't really care for it.

THE BAD:
The game freezes and for some reason Nick seems to posess the ability to pass through solid matter.

SUMMARY:
I have to admit, when I first heard about this game I thought for sure it was going to be a copy of GTA and that could be the reason why it was released 2 days earlier than it was originally planned for. Coincidentally the same day that the GTA double pack was supposed to be released. In any case, as soon as I started it up, I knew I was in for something special. This game looks and feels like an action movie. The music, the FMV's, the story, Christopher Walken, who is hilarious in this, etc. What this game has done is take a new genre that was created by the GTA series and takes it to another level. Not only by adding upgrades for cars, fighting and weapons, but adding a very entertaining, over the top action...

THE BAD:
all the bugs, and the freezing of the game

SUMMARY:
I was very impressed with the level of detail they put in this game. If you like violence then this is a game for you. Im gonna say that this game is better than grand theft auto. This game is basically a more ramped up version of gta. This game is more like if John Woo were to direct gta and made a movie.

This game only suffers from alot of bugs, sometimes when you get in a brawl the game freezes for maybe 3 seconds, then continues. And on one stage where I had to sneak around, i pressed up against a wall, I ended up going through and almost getting caught.

The control can be alittle shaky at times, but takes some time to fully master, The fighting and shooting interface is cool though, switching back and forth is a breeze but even that takes time to master as well, so it keeps you on your p's and q's.
